As you drive up the mountain, you'll find yourself at over 3,750 feet elevation. The air is cool and refreshing this high up, and the breezes bring scents of the old-growth pine forests surrounding you.
The main level of this home features an open and airy great room with vaulted ceilings, rustic hardwood floors, leather furniture facing a stone wood-burning fireplace, and a SmartTV mounted above. The updated kitchen offers granite counters and a spacious island, stainless steel appliances including a double-door refrigerator, and all the items you need to prepare everything from a quick snack to a delicious dinner. There's room for everyone to enjoy a meal together between the bench-style dining room table and the three stools at the island.
Head downstairs and catch the game on the big screen TV or challenge your friends and family to a game of pool or ping pong. Step outside to the covered deck and take a dip in the round hot tub - your aches from hiking in these beautiful mountains are guaranteed to melt away!
Time for bed? S'More To Love has four bedrooms, each themed after a special part of North Carolina:
Upstairs: "Top of the Hill" - our tribute to beautiful Chapel Hill. Top of the Hill offers a King bed and private bathroom with granite counters and a tiled shower.
Main Level: "Make Yosef Comfortable"; and "The Queen City" bedrooms. Make Yosef Comfortable pays tribute to Appalachian State University’s mascot and The Queen City is themed after the amazing city of Charlotte. Both rooms have a King bed and share a hall bath with a tub/shower.
Downstairs: "The Wolves Den"; bedroom, a homage to NC State and the city of Raleigh. This room has a Queen bed and two sets of Twin/Twin bunks and there is a full bath down the hall with a shower.
There are just 7 steps from the gravel parking area to walk onto the main level deck and enter the cabin, but every time you come home we bet you won't be able to resist going around the corner to grab a quick peek at Grandfather Mountain in the distance! Kick back on the deck and stargaze, or warm up on a chilly evening with the propane fire table. Take the gravel path from the lower level steps out to the beautiful new firepit at the edge of the yard and have fun telling stories and making s'mores around the bonfire!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION & RULES
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small
vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. Towels and linens will be provided.
- Check in is after 4pm, and check out is by 10am.
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms & Conditions sent by Host (property manager) or entry information will not be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and using their card to pay for it and must be one of the persons staying in the home for the
reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home, and no trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
- This home is pet friendly for up to 2 mature, well-trained dogs and there are no additional fees to bring your dog(s). We ask that you let us know at time of booking so we can note it on your reservation, though! Pets other than dogs are not permitted.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Bookings cancelled with a 30+ day notice will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings cancelled between 15-29 days will receive half of their deposit back. Bookings cancelled with 14 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless your dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

Beautiful house with amazing views of the mountains out of the large living room window, off of the deck, and from the hot tub. The house is in a neighborhood of sorts, so during peak times there may be more people around but in early-mid April this felt very private. The house is within 15-30 minutes of spectacular hikes and is about that same distance from both Boone and Banner Elk. We were 8 people (4 adults and 4 teens) and 2 smaller dogs and we felt very comfortable there. The kids (and on occasion the adults) had a blast playing ping pong and pool. The kitchen has updated appliances and a nice large island. We figured we would go out to eat at some point but actually wound up making every meal at the house, including making good use of the grill. The only "complaint" I could offer is that the dryer is a bit loud, but that is an easy fix. Overall, this is an excellent place and price.- Judah, Posted: 04/14/2025

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful mountain house! We loved the décor , and the whole place felt so comfy and cozy. The game room in the basement was a huge hit (we had a little ping pong competition), and the hot tub with a view of the mountains was the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring. The location was fantastic, and we especially enjoyed the little fire pit out back—perfect for roasting s'mores under the stars. We have been staying with Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals for over 15 years. We have stayed in many perfect homes over those years, but this year was very special! This home fit our large family and 2 doggies perfectly! Stunning views, firepit easily accessible from the home which is important to us at night in bear country. The lay out, the views from inside and out, the kitchen amenities for cooking, the gated porch/deck so our pups could run free without fear of them running off, the furnishings, the comfort of the beds, ease of accessibility from town as well as the cleanliness of the home were all immaculate! I even had the privilege to talk with the owner through text who was a complete delight! So thoughtful and helpful! We will request this home again and again in the future. This cabin was perfect for our group. Loved that the kids could have the entire downstairs. It was beautifully decorated and so well stocked! The view could not be beat and the communication was incredible. Love that there was no pet fee, was the primary reason we chose this cabin and so glad we did. Fantastic rental all around. It wasn't your typical mountain cabin with the stereotypical decor, which was a nice change. Instead there was a more modern, but welcoming decor. Everything that we could need for a weekend away with friends was there; a hot tub at the perfect temperature, a ping pong table and billiards table for fun times, as well as a large 77” TV perfect for hooking up your video game systems or watching a movie. The kitchen was well stocked with all the kinds of cooking utensils one would need, as well as a grill for some outdoor cooking. Our family loved our stay at this home!!! Everything was perfect. Newly renovated, spacious and fully stocked kitchen. We soaked up every second on the deck with that amazing view of Grandfather mountain. The game room in the basement was so much fun, the other side of the basement had the coziest space with the TV. The Otter Falls trail was beautiful and the weather could not have been better. A high of 77 degrees in June!! Perfect combination of super private home but still close to everything. Really was special to us that the owner gave a portion of our rent back to charity. We've never seen this done before. The management company was incredibly responsive and helpful, and the owner's digital guidebook was the best one we have ever seen. Really well thought out and creative ideas allowed us to stay off our phones the entire time! We've already told the owner that we'll be returning the same week next year!
