On The River

We were traveling for work so we did not get to enjoy the property as much as I had hoped, but it was truly beautiful with the big yard and the stream in the front yard. Everything was as advertised and clean and easy to enter the property. They were very responsive and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if in the area. Thank you so much!

We loved our stay at On the River!! The home was cozy and comfortable and spectacularly clean inside and out. The porch was lovely, and the yard was beautiful with all the rhododendrons and dogwoods blooming. My family enjoyed being able to jump right into the river to play. That part of the river appeared to be a good spot for fishing too and would be plenty deep enough to float/tube in the warmer months. The location was perfect - just a few minutes from the Valle Crucis Community Park and Mast General Store and an easy drive to Boone/Blowing Rock. Blue Ridge was great about communication from start to finish. We are excited for our next stay!

We have stayed at this cabin for 2 years for 2 kids graduating from App State. It is just a short drive to campus but away from all the busyness of Boone. The kitchen is well stocked, but our favorite place is the porch. We spent most of our evenings there, rocking in the chair and enjoying the peace and quiet of the back yard. Next time we will need to come for an actual vacation!

Fantastic experience as always. The cabin is cosy, with a stunningly landscaped backyard with the Watauga River running in the back yard. Walking distance (along the river) to a great park (Valle Crucis Park). Centrally located for many other activities including hiking, skiing and dinners out.

This cabin was perfect for our family. Great location, close to a beautiful park for small children, and easy access to Boone, Blowing Rock, and the Parkway. We had such a great time we extended our stay by one night.

We were really looking forward to a week away this fall and we were not disappointed. Staying in a cabin right on the river was very special and the cabin only enhanced our enjoyment. The cabin is rustic but fully furnished with all necessary appliances as well as a Smart TV. The furniture was comfortable and the setting was cozy. We had lunch on the screened porch and enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch as well. The property was clean and well maintained and the managers even helped us retrieve something we forgot. We really appreciated their help! We will definitely be returning to "On the River" and I certainly recommend it to fellow travelers!

Fantastic little cabin on the river, perfect for a couple of weeks get away. We were able to quarantine ourselves in a different location (the mountains) for 2 weeks giving ourselves a different view! We brought most of our supplies, but found it easy to get to a store when we needed to as well as plenty to do as far as hikes, tubing on the river, or walking our dog through the neighborhoods. The house was clean and comfortable, actually used the fireplace the first couple of days, but then it warmed up. It is well shaded and with doors and windows open stays a consistent temperature, even on hot days. The upstairs small bedroom has a little air conditioner that works great!

I rented a similar cabin at the same street two years ago, being near the river is a special treat. By comparison this cabin was superior, very pleasant

This is a great place to stay. Very relaxing. Can't beat hearing the birds and the river when you wake up in the morning.
