On Highland Time

I wanted to give a review of my stay in January. This home is adorable and comfortable. The location is perfect as I could go to Boone and blowing rock for dinner and breakfast. However, staying at the lovely house is all you need with a great kitchen and a great hot tub. I highly recommend for a family escape or couple weekend! I will be back!

Great location in a quiet neighborhood and close to all the things you need. Floor plan worked well, was comfortable and had all the amenities we were looking for. We would definitely come back again.

Having stayed in a handful of rentals in NC over the last handful of years, we feel this was the best fit for our family ... location, amenities, value, etc. Our two younger children loved having a downstairs "suite" to themselves, a fenced in yard is key for a dog, and ultimately we all had space to be together when wanted and have our own areas when desired. Very easy access to Blowing Rock and Boone and all of the skiing and hiking all over the area while at the same time feeling super remote with a great view. Definitely on our list to stay again!

What beautiful location & convinced to both Blowing Rock & Boone. Both the main level queen bedroom suit & the open loft King bedroom suit were super comfortable both with great forest views. We enjoyed the downstairs game room and hot tub with our two kiddos. Best part was being dog friendly for our pup with even a small fenced in area on the side.

We rented the house for a much needed girl's weekend. We overpacked because the house had everything you could possibly need or want, games, movies, blow dryers, tons of cooking stuff etc. The weather was awful but we had tons of fun anyway. Used the hot tub, sat outside on the covered porch, and cooked yummy food. The drive up is a little scary if you aren't used to mountain roads and it was pouring but once we got the hang of it we were good to go. The wild turkeys were so fun to watch. I would highly recommend this home to anyone who wants to unplug and relax.

What a beautiful setting for quiet time and family get together! The cabin was spacious, well-appointed and very clean! Very easy check in - no key entry. Very nice. Everything you could possibly need in kitchen, bed and bath plus games and books (in case you forgot yours). No complaints.

Wonderful views of the surrounding mountains, including a view of the ski slopes where my family enjoyed skiing for three days this week. This is a luxurious cabin experience with many small details contributing to a truly great six nights in this home. Property management company makes the process easy, and they were very responsiveness. We had never heard of Blowing Rock, but wanted a getaway from Tennessee that included skiing, and this turned out to be a great option. Would definitely consider staying at this property again.

We loved our stay and wish we could have stayed longer! The cabin was immaculate and outfitted with every amenity you could need. We were 15 minutes from App Ski Mountain and 10 minutes to town, but still in a wooded paradise that felt rustic and secluded. Perfectly situated for whatever you could need! We loved the wood burning fire each night after a long ski day. We highly recommend this location!

Perfect little getaway!! Great location-between Blowing Rock and Boone. There are also several other attractions within a short drive as well. The place had everything we needed. The hot tub and fire pit were the perfect addition for a fun fall girls weekend. I'd recommend staying there for sure!!

This little cabin was perfect! It is just as the photos show you on the VRBO site. Super clean, well equipped; very cozy and comfortable. The beds were great which made for great sleeping. Bathrooms clean. Even the window treatments were great! The forested setting was fabulous. I love this cabin and wish it was my own !!!

Highly recommend this house. The location is right between Boone and Blowing Rock close to the main road. Super quiet and lots of wildlife. The upstairs bedroom is on open loft but they have a curtain that makes it feel private. The house is nicely appointed.

This was my first travel stay since the pandemic began. The home was so clean I didn't have to worry. I loved sitting outside on the 2nd floor balcony drinking my tea and feeling the wind. I couldn't use the firepit because it was too windy outside, but the jacuzzi was great - spotless, perfect temperature.

We arrived after dark in a thick fog and the cabin was still easy to spot. It was well marked and the lights were left on for us. The entire house was very clean and comfortable. It wasn't until the second night, when the fog lifted, that we got a glimpse at the Appalachian Ski Resort. The lights of the night ski are obvious and visible, but not obtrusive because they're more in the distance. Not a big deal, but something you may want to know about. The location is excellent and within minutes of Boone. It took us about an hour to reach Beech Mt. to ski. We loved the layout of the cabin. And had lot of fun playing hide-and-seek with the kids! It truly felt like our own mountain home, even if only for the weekend. This is a great place to explore the near-by attractions and still feel far enough away from it all.

On Highland Time was perfect for our weekend getaway. It was the best stocked Airbnb I have ever stayed at. They thought of everything. It was perfect for a family or adults. The basement was a great hangout ! The views were gorgeous, we saw lots of wildlife, and the sunrise from the top bedroom was breathtaking. Highly recommend.

We had a great time at the cabin. It has everything you need for a weekend getaway or longer. The view is awesome and the hot tub is a bonus. The location is very private and we thought the bedding and overall amenities we're great. Excellent job on communication, as well.

Easy, contactless check-in. Very clean throughout the entire house. Kitchen was fully stocked with all cookware and utensils you could need. Even had a crock pot and a small Keurig in the pantry. Perfect getaway for 2-6 people, could fit 8 if needed by using the sleeper sofa. At the top of a mountain so the view is fantastic and quite private. Waking up to the sunrise from the loft was amazing. Will recommend. Note, it is at the very top of a mountain community. About 1 mile of steep narrow driveway to the top. Well paved but definitely need AWD and snow tires in snow or ice.

Cabin was exactly as described. It was one of the cleanest rentals we have ever stayed in. There were really no issues that we needed help with on our stay however, the team was responsive to my questions before and after booking. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots and pans etc. We had a great time and could even see App Ski Mtn from the cabin.

We absolutely loved this property! The house was in a gorgeous neighborhood that was in the perfect location, sandwiched directly between Boone and Blowing Rock. The house had great amenities, such as the game table, the comfortable front porch, the Bluetooth speakers on both levels, and most importantly, the fully stocked kitchen that made cooking our Christmas Eve and Christmas dinners a breeze! We were delighted to find that the home was decorated for the holidays! The bedroom configurations were perfect for a family of four with an additional guest. We would definitely come back!

Cozy and clean cabin surrounded by woods. Really enjoyed this cabin! Cozy, clean, and quiet space. The entire process was somple and easy - Easy to locate and access. Simple instructions for cleaning before leaving. Accommodating - had all the things we needed (e.g., kitchen supplies, WiFi) and more (fire place inside and outside) to enjoy our stay. Beautiful home beautiful location! This is the most pet friendly property I have seen there are gates on the decks and a great fenced in area around the firepit. Well stocked kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals..There is plenty of deer to see every morning . Was a great clean relaxing place!

The house was a perfect size for our family of four plus our dog. We enjoyed the fire pit each night as well as the hot tub. The house is secluded but not too much so. The enclosed space around the fire pit allowed our dog to roam freely. We saw several deer and hummingbirds. The beds were very comfortable. The location is perfect for outings to Boone and Blowing Rock. We also visited Grandfather Mountain and Linville Falls. We would definitely stay in this house again. Thank you!

The cabin is exactly as advertised. It was very clean which is important to me. If you are looking to stay in and cook then you won't be disappointed in the extremely well stocked kitchen. It has everything you could possible need. Of course you are so close to Boone (5-10 minutes away) and Blowing Rock (5-10 minutes away) you don't want to miss out on the good restaurants there too. In Boone we ate at Lost Province Brewing Company (delicious wood-fired pizzas and other bar type foods) and Wildcraft Eatery which has a more eclectic menu but some of the best food I have eaten in a while at any restaurant. You will not be disappointed at either place! In Blowing Rock we ate at Town Tavern of Blowing Rock and enjoyed sitting out on the deck and listening to a guitar player as we ate. Great Philly cheese steaks. Mostly bar food but it has a huge variety for everyone. The cabin is secluded and so quiet. If you are out on the deck you can very faintly hear the Tweetsie Railroad whistle in the background. Inside the house you don't hear it at all. It was so peaceful we slept with the windows open so we could enjoy the fresh mountain air and the peace and quiet. The hot tub was a huge hit after a few long days of hiking. It felt great on my tired legs. It too was very clean. The fire pit area was also very nice. We built a fire two of the nights and cooked s'mores even though we were still full from dinner. You can't go wrong with this cabin. It has location, it is clean, it is well stocked, and booking was very easy. It was great to have some toiletries (shampoo, soap, conditioner) on hand too when we arrived since my son and his friend both forgot to bring theirs. It is the little touches that make this place a great place to stay. You won't be disappointed.
