Lazy Oaks Lodge

Lazy Oaks Lodge was the perfect home to have a low key girls weekend in! The beds were super comfortable (even the pull out couch) and we loved the large amount of amenities, especially the hot tub!

Our stay at Lazy Oaks Lodge was a timely and most welcome respite from daily life. The first time up the road and driveway was a wonderful adventure. It was the first time my wife and kids have been subject to a NC mountain road switch back and steep driveways. I very much enjoyed hearing them experience this for the first time. It was a fun way to start our weekend. For me the driveway was exciting each time I drove it. Me and my kids walked down it once. Don't be fooled by how easy it is to walk down. You still have to get back up. My step counter didn't register that by 600+ steps were at a 35-45 degree angle. The cabin is very nice. Wood floors are beautiful. This cabin has one of the prettiest Islands I've experienced in our vacation times renting cabins. Beds were extremely comfortable and we slept great the entire time. Our trip also included a visit by Hurricane/Tropical Storm Ian. That could've messed up a weekend, however, we used this visitation by Ian to stay indoors for most of the weekend and just enjoy family. Having coffee in the morning on the covered top front deck, playing card and board games, playing pool on the bottom level, and watching movies. There is a huge deck under construction off the bottom level, based off of the rest of the house, I have no doubt this is going to be a wonderful gathering place once finished. I hope to be able to experience that deck on a future visit. We love visiting the Mast General Store. Both the original store and the annex are located just a mile or two away. Keep in mind, by mountain roads, that's still like 10 minutes. Our weekend was relaxing, very enjoyable, and created some memories that will last a long time. The storm caused us to spend most of the weekend indoors instead of visiting all the local attractions. In the end, that was just what we needed. Oh yeah, the master bathroom is just as gorgeous in person as it is in the pictures.

this cabin was better than we expected. The drive to the cabin was pretty steep but I enjoyed the ride , can't say the same for my wife. if you want to be on top of a mountain that's just what you have to do. The cabin was spacious , kitchen had all you needed the beds were very comfortable ,can't say the same for other cabins we've been in..water pressure in shower was AWESOME. Seen lot's of deer in and around property. The views from this cabin were breath taking. Only caution i will give is pulling into cabin is a very tight turn and parking, we had 2 vehicles, was tight.. we will stay here again..

The house is beautiful and the view was amazing. Plenty of room for a party of 8. The driveway was a little tricky, but otherwise perfect. Very clean house, plenty of dishes and towels. Many hours were spent on the porch watching the mountains across the valley.

We enjoyed our stay at Treetop Tranquility. The sunsets every night were gorgeous. The kitchen was well equipped with all cooking essentials. The location and view of the Valle is perfect! (Please note this home was formerly called Treetop Tranquility)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Treetop Tranquility! We were lucky enough to stay over the 4th of July weekend, which gave us a front row seat to local fireworks, from above! The house was immaculately clean, the beds slept well, the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to have great dinners at home. We especially loved spending time in the hot tub and on the back porch swing. The sunsets were absolutely beautiful! I really don't know of anything that would have improved our stay, except for maybe some lightweight chairs that could be used by the hot tub and/or fire pit. Our stay at Treetop Tranquility was exactly what our family needed and we would definitely rent it again! (Please note that this home was formerly called Treetops Tranquility)

The property was beautiful. The road to get there was a little scary. We realized it would be steep, but didn't realize it was only wide enough for one vehicle! Thankfully we never met anyone on the trek up or down. The house was beautifully furnished and had most everything needed for our fall break get away. The kitchen was well stocked, dish and appliance wise, for our needs. We will definitely be returning in the future!

Terrific cabin/home! The furnishings and attention to detail made this a truly wonderful place to stay. We didn't want to leave. We will definitely rent this cabin again when we return to the area.

This house is amazing! So much so we booked for another stay while we were still there. Clean house, plenty of space. Each level has a bedroom and full bath. The master bath is very spacious. Fantastic views from the deck. Lower level deck has the hot tub and I would recommend bringing some folding chairs for down there in case you want to get in and out or other guests want to chat but don't want to get in (there is only the hot tub on the lower deck). Great location. Boone is 10 min away and Banner Elk about 20. There is a nice waterfall hike in Valle Crucis which we did twice. Highly recommend this house for your mountain getaway!

When we first arrived and walked through the house, we were astonished at the beauty of the natural wood visible everywhere (open beams, walls, floors) and how spacious and well-appointed all the rooms and open spaces were. The house has all modern amenities from multiple large flat-screen TVs, to an Xbox, wireless Internet, to a pool table and especially the hot tub! The kitchen has new appliances and is well stocked with pans, dishes, and a modern coffee maker. The kitchen is more well stocked than most new houses. And the large natural wood countertop is beautiful. The beds are large and comfortable. The rooms are huge. The master bath is as large as some bedrooms in houses today. We had 3 adults and 3 kids and had one bed still available. The house (too large and elegant to call a cabin) sits on top of a mountain looking down on the original Mast store and the Valle Crucis Community Park. The views are stunning and best of all, you get to watch the sunset each night from the upper porch (and watch the fog lift each morning while drinking you coffee). Our stay was fantastic and we are already planning a return trip. In summary, beautiful house, well-appointed and stocked, lots of bonus amenities, and a view that is second to none. Also, close to everything from trails to skiing, Boone, Blowing Rock, Seven Devils and more. Try out the jerky at the store nearby. Loved it!

Wouldn't change a single thing about this cabin. Beautiful new kitchen appliances and cookware, TV's in every room with chromecast/airplay, pool table, rocking chairs, swing, hot tub, high speed wifi, everything you can think of. The cabin is very isolated and views are incredible. Bathrooms are beautiful and the cabin is spotless. The road up to the cabin is very steep and slightly narrow but well paved so be prepared for that drive.

Our family of 5 found the Treetop Tranquility cabin the perfect place for a week's getaway. In particular, we enjoyed the Smart TVs in each room so when we couldn't agree on what to watch on TV, we all had our own separate retreat to watch TV or play games. The cabin had all the amenities we could ask for and everything was labeled with clear instructions for use. Great experience and would definitely stay there again.
