Good Medicine is a newly built 3BR log home located just 12 minutes from downtown Boone and 20 minutes to Blowing Rock! And less than 5 minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway!! Perfect location for hiking, fishing, or ski trips; and of course the BEST location if you're coming to town to cheer on the App State Mountaineers!
Beautifully and thoughtfully furnished, Good Medicine offers luxury accommodations throughout the entire home. The spacious main level boasts a beautiful, fully stocked kitchen, along with a stone island, dining area and a living room with vaulted ceilings and a stacked stone fireplace! Most of the furnishings are brand new and very high quality. The master bedroom is also on the main level and features a king bed and private bathroom with a tile shower, jetted tub, and double vanities!
Upstairs find two more bedrooms, each with queen beds. These bedrooms will share a bathroom in the hall. The large loft upstairs has a queen sleeper sofa, a shuffleboard table, and flat screen TV. Each bedroom comes with comfortable mattresses, sound machines and room darkening blinds.
Outside is surely to be your favorite place to hang out! The wrap around deck is large enough for the entire group to spread out! Plenty of rocking chairs and seating are on the porch, facing the beautiful views off in the distance. There is also a brand new hot tub for guests to relax in, as well as a stone fire pit in the yard to gather around on a crisp summer or fall evening! The large, flat yard is perfect for the family fur members to stretch their legs and play! The porch also has dog gates, as well!
Additional Notes:
- CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
- Repeat guests returning to Good Medicine can receive a 5% discount.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers.
- Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $25 plus tax.
- Towels and linens will be provided for you.
- This property is pet friendly for up to 4 to mature, well-trained dogs for an additional pet rent of $25 per pet per night.
- Please observe a quiet hour of 10PM as there are full time residents nearby.
- AWD or 4WD vehicles are required during winter months.
- Parking space for up to 5 vehicles.

Good Medicine is 5 minutes by car from the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, and the Grandview Overlook, 6 minutes from the nearest grocery store, and 24 minutes from Appalachian Ski Mountain. It is 4 miles from Rocky Knob Mountain Bike Park, 4.6 miles from Booneshine Brewing Company, and 4.7 miles from Pine Run Public Fishing Area for boating and fishing enthusiasts.

We have stayed at Good Medicine two years in a row and will now be our go to! It's an amazing location, beautiful property and the yard works perfectly for our pups! Everything about this house is perfect - spacious kitchen, quiet surrounding and you can spend relaxing time around the fire pit. The name of the cabin, "Good Medicine" says it all!! There are so many good things to say about this cabin! The area is beautiful! Location is very convenient...about 15 mins to Boone...10 mins to grocery stores, etc. We loved the layout of the cabin inside & out, very clean, well stocked, kitchen has most conveniences that you need, LOVED the decorations, impressed by the huge showers & closets, room darkening shades & sound machines were great! Very kid friendly! Plenty of room for them to run & play outside! We stayed here for our daughter's graduation from App State and it was nice during the day, but chilly at night, so the fireplace, hot tub, and fire pit warmed us up. We even got to see the Northern Lights from the deck, such a cool experience to witness God's Canvas...Beautiful! We had a cookout after the graduation...nice quality gas grill! Family & friends commented that the cabin was so nice and they loved the look and smell of all the wood inside the cabin! We were able to "hit the reset button" and relax! This is a beautiful home. Very clean, well maintained and nicely decorated. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and high end appliances. Outside was great too. Our dog loved the big yard, we used the fire pit and hot tub. Beautiful views from the porch with plenty of comfy furniture. Area was very peaceful but close to downtown Boone and attractions. Our stay at "Good Medicine" was perfect for our weekend in the NC mountains. We felt like we were miles away from it all but we had quick and easy access to the App State campus to get to the football game and Parents Weekend festivities. We had stunning views from the wrap-around porch and from inside the home with all the windows that let in the sun and beauty. The kitchen and living area offered the space and amenities we needed to serve and gather. The home is beautifully furnished and was very comfortable for our guests.
