Welcome to Bird’s Eye View!
Our new family-friendly, rustic-modern home is nestled in the mountains at 4,500 ft elevation on a 1.5 acre lot, giving you supreme privacy and incredible views of the Blue Ridge. Bird’s Eye View, a 3 bedroom/3.5 bath, sleeps 8 comfortably and has everything your family or travel group will need for a fabulous getaway. Have kids? They’ll love our bunk room (3 twin beds, one queen), cozy reading nook with large papasan chairs, ping pong table, board games, books, horse shoe set, hammocks, extra-large
hot tub, and more!
Our retreat is part of the highly sought-after “Lodges at Eagles Nest” – a distinctive, upscale, mountain home gated community with access to it all. While our home is very private, you are just minutes away from tennis courts, pickleball courts, soccer field, putt putt course, disc golf, hiking trails, ATV trails, the community amphitheater for weekly concerts and so much more!
Planning a ski trip? You are a short 15-minute drive from the Beech Mountain Ski Resort and just a few more minutes to Sugar Mountain.
Visiting in the Fall, Spring or Summer? The world is your oyster. You can either opt to stay within the development and keep busy with all the amenities or get out and explore the beautiful area. We love to do both and have compiled a list of some of our favorite activities outside the development to give you a jump start!
Family-Friendly Activities:
•
Hawksnest Zipline Canopy Tours – This is one of our favorite family outings! If you’re visiting in the winter, be sure to check out their snow tube runs.

Upper Creek Falls – One of our favorite hikes with waterfalls, swimming holes and a natural water slide that will take your breath away!

•
Mast General Store – It’s a must-do while you’re in the area. Bring your wallet, your kids will want some candy.
• If your family is into theater, Appalachian State and Lees-McRae College both have fabulous summer programming that’s detailed on their website.
Food, Vineyards, and Live Music.
• During the warmer months, there are huge concerts at the Amphitheater at Great Camp. You won’t want to miss this! There are usually 5 – 6 food trucks, ensuring you won’t go hungry, and stocked bars if you desire.
•
Old Hampton Store and Barbeque – Located in Linville, they serve up some of the best BBQ and entertainment. They’ve recently converted an old barn into a stage and have live performances outdoors in the warmer months.
•
Linville Falls Winery – This is such a great vineyard with live music during the warmer months.
•
Grandfather Mountain Vineyard – ditto what we said about Linville Vineyard ?
• Tin Trout in Crossnore – This is a true hidden gem, but the word is spreading! Get there early or they run out of trout. If you enjoy wine with your dinner, swing by Linville Falls Vineyard first and take a bottle to dinner with you (they do not serve alcohol).
Downtown Banner Elk is chock full of great restaurants, from very fine, upscale dining at LP on Main to more casual settings like Banner Elk Café and Tavern and Sorrento’s Italian Bistro. The same can be said for Blowing Rock and Boone, which come with a larger variety of restaurants, shopping, and art galleries.
