Description
This charming 4-bedroom home is located on the outskirts of Boone making it the ideal getaway for those seeking something a little more removed and private, yet still close to fun area activities!
The main level offers a spacious living room, kitchen and dining space. The living room features an electric fireplace, flat screen TV and cozy furniture. The kitchen is fully stocked and offers plenty of space to spread out and cook a delicious meal. There is also a drip coffee maker, so bring your favorite ground coffee! 4 barstools are located at the large stainless island for a quick bite before heading to town!
The master bedroom is located on the main level and is furnished with a king bed, flat screen TV, and full bathroom with a shower/tub combo. Each bedroom also has its own mini-split unit for heating & cooling. Head upstairs to find the bunk room which has one bunk bed (twin-over-twin) and two day beds, each with a trundle underneath. This room will sleep a total of 6... perfect spot for kids to gather and play games while adults enjoy an evening by the firepit!
Downstairs you'll find two additional bedrooms, each with king beds and their own private bathrooms. Also on this level is an additional kitchen that is fully stocked with plates, cups, and extra supplies! There is also a small dining table, an arcade game machine, and a futon adjacent to the kitchen for overflow sleeping space.
Outside is where most guests will spend the bulk of their time during warmer months! The huge, partially covered deck is furnished with brand new rocking chairs and Adirondack chairs! There is also a gas grill for guests to use (propane will be provided). Underneath the deck is the brand new hot tub. Last but not least, there is a newly constructed fire pit in the yard for the cool summer and fall evenings with the family! The Guf was thoughtfully furnished to be a haven for guests to escape their busy lives and enjoy all the High Country has to offer. Brand new furnishings (including mattresses!) will have everyone feeling relaxed and refreshed. When it's time to head into town for dining, shopping, and other fun activities, you're only an 8 mile drive from downtown Boone, and 16 miles to Blowing Rock! The Guf is the perfect destination for year-round trips to the beautiful North Carolina Mountains!

- The Guf is a pet friendly property with pet rent of $25+tax per day, per dog. Dogs must be crated when left at home alone.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers.
- The road leading to this home starts as being paved then changes to gravel. The gravel portion is very easy to navigate however, guests should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD during winter months.
- Towels and linens will be provided for you.
- Firewood may be added at the time of booking or by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You receive two wrapped bundles and a fire starter for $25/night.
CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

Thank you to Hunter for making our vacation happen! She diligently worked to help find another place for our family to stay when our first choice did not work out. As far as the Guf it is an amazing cabin! So beautiful and well appointed. We absolutely had everything we needed and then some. We had 8 in our party and so much space. It was super quiet and we enjoyed the forest views. Our 2 families needed a time to unplug and get away from the hustle and bustle and this cabin was perfect! This was my second time staying at The Guf and I have to say it did not disappoint!! After traveling 10+ hours to get to the NC Mountains, the jacuzzi and amazingly comfortable beds were very appreciated!! Enjoyed cooking in the Kitchen and using all of the amenities. The Guf is very spacious and great for a large group spending time together. It was perfect for App State graduation weekend with family and friends! Every bedroom has its own private bathroom. The beds are comfortable. Everything is clean. Every room has its own split unit to control air conditioning. The kitchen is stocked with cooking needs but bring your own spices! The hot tub is clean and awesome. The deck is great with nice seating, even though it rained we enjoyed the outdoors. The fire pit and grill look nice but we didn't use them. Two laundry rooms and two kitchens. Early check in and late departure are possible. The road up to the house is steep! Even when dry, I recommend all wheel drive or an SUV. We had a wonderful stay at The Guf. We thoroughly enjoyed the home…made for a great location to gather to celebrate my father's 70th Birthday. The house was spotless and well stocked. The location is super convenient to Boone, Blowing Rock and Banner Elk. We enjoyed lots of the local activities. Blue Ridge was able to come through on short notice. They didn't cancel and delivered just what their listing said it would. We are a big party with a fur baby. They had the house ready for us. Easy check in and out. Spacious. Drank our morning coffee out on the deck. Played card games in the living room area. Made s'mores. It's a beautiful home. This is a lovely cabin. It's clean and spacious. Kitchen is well appointed. Beds are super comfortable. Hot tub was awesome. Very secluded location. Loved our stay here and would highly recommend.- Mae, Posted: 07/13/2022
We recently stayed at The Guf in Sugar Grove! What an amazing home!! The house sleeps 12 people comfortably, which makes it great for large families and is very spacious. The beds were also amazingly comfortable. I think I slept better here than I did in my own home! The Kitchen was also stocked with just about every gadget and appliance needed! I have rented other places before and had to go and buy things like muffin pans or measuring cups, but not at The Guf. It is fully loaded. The cabin also has a great jacuzzi which was nice after our excursions from hiking, horseback riding and sightseeing. The cabin is centrally located to all things which was very convenient.
