The cabin was warm, well-lit, clean, and ready for our late-night arrival. In the morning, we were awed by the view of mountains and deer grazing onsite. The property is HUGE, and felt very private. My kids had a ton of space to run around (including fenced-in areas), and could be watched from the numerous windows and screened porch. The listing mentions possible noise from construction, but it was only slightly heard when outside. The bedroom with bunkbeds is actually a horse stable, which my kids loved! It does get quite cold in there; the mini-split and extra blankets were appreciated! The community has lots of amenities, including Dollar General's only cashier-less store. My son said it was like shopping in an abandoned store after a zombie apocalypse, lol. One word of caution - it is 6 miles from the community entrance to the cabin. This was a 13 minute drive during good weather and minute when snowing. Because of this, we cooked our own meals rather than eat out.- Dawne, Posted: 01/26/2024
Wonderful experience!- Trey, Posted: 12/08/2023
Simple and Easy! The house was great and the rental process was smooth. Eagles Nest is a real hidden gem in NC!- Chad, Posted: 10/28/2022
We were attending a wedding in the area and booked the cabin as it was close and convenient. It was beautiful. We had a great stay.- Joe, Posted: 10/18/2022
Was very happy with this property. Came for skiing at Sugar Mountain. Would love to come back and stay at this Eagles nest property during the summer to really enjoy all of the amenities- Brandon, Posted: 02/22/2022
We stayed for a few days at a cabin at Eagles Nest, enjoyed the trip and the snow. Management Company was responsive to calls within limitations caused by weather.- Natalja, Posted: 01/31/2022
This property is ideal for a family getaway in the mountains while still having access to plenty of amenities near by.- Marcela, Posted: 01/05/2022
Spent Thanksgiving 2021 at Mio Nido with my wife, 2 young boys, and my in-laws. There was plenty of space for all of us. The property was absolutely beautiful and made for such a relaxing vacation. The kids room with bunk beds was so much fun for them. It is close to the North Pavilion, which is a fun place to hang out with a beautiful view. The windows in Mio Nido look out over a gorgeous view, especially in the morning as the sun comes over the mountains. We saw so many deer, which was very fun for the kids.- Matt, Posted: 11/30/2021
After a fun filled day at The Land of Oz with a little one, we enjoyed coming back to a home we could relax and reflect. Views were spectacular and the home was exceptional. Thank you for making this a special memory for us all! We hope to make this an annual trip!- Mitchel, Posted: 09/28/2021
This is a perfect location for two young families. We had four adults and 6 kids ranging from 1.5-11 years old. They enjoyed playing in the pastures chasing after deer and other wildlife. The sunrises are beautiful! We will visit again, love Eagles Nest!- Joshua, Posted: 09/08/2021
Mio Nido at Eagles Nest was incredible. The rental experience was super easy and the place was simply amazing. Everything was top notch. Will use BRR again for sure.- Michael, Posted: 04/15/2021
We enjoyed a wonderful stay here over Easter weekend. The home and property were immaculate and well maintained. It also provided lots of extras that so many rental homes don't always think of like lots of hooks, coat racks, rubber mats for boots by entryways, bars of soap for each sink, plenty of pillows, etc. We found the kitchen to be well supplied with cookware and had what we needed to prepare all our meals. The grill and screened-in porch were a great spot for outdoor dining and place to gather. We very much enjoyed the waterfall trail at the North Pavilion. It was a gorgeous trail that was the perfect amount of adventure for our three boys. Lots of bridges and creeks! Also, at the North Pavilion we enjoyed the soccer field, basketball court and fire pit for s'mores, We easily ventured out to Boone and Valle Crucis for gem mining, shopping and dining.- Adrienne, Posted: 04/09/2021
If you are looking for that diamond in the rough winter vacation for your family Eagles Nest in Banner Elk is it. It is considered by many “Aspen of the East”, with both Beech and Sugar Mountain ski resorts nearby it is truly a hidden gem for skiers and snowboarders on the East coast. Eagles Nest is a family first community with so much to offer, everyone in your group will come away with a special memory that will last a lifetime. Mio Nido in particular is one of many exquisite properties that will make you consider owning your own investment property within the community. Thank you for sharing your home with us, creating lifelong memories and inspiring us to look into owning our own piece of bliss in Eagles Nest!!- Blake, Posted: 01/12/2021
My adventurous family of five felt right at home at Mio Nido. We have loved Eagles Nest for a while now, and know the area well. We have always admired this house from afar, so we were so excited to stay. We woke up every morning to deer grazing on the hills and beautiful mountain views. We were in heaven! We had everything we needed! We will stay again.- Amanda, Posted: 12/18/2020
Excellent. Good service. Beautiful community.- Dung, Posted: 08/03/2020
Great location on the top of Eagle's Nest Resort. Cabin was clean, well laid out and had all the amenities that one needs on a trip. We most definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy this mountain resort.- Paul, Posted: 06/24/2020
The home is spectular! It was one of the most cleanliness homes we've stayed which made it super easy to feel like home. The size fit Both families making it very comfortable. The little details were so thought out like stools in the bathrooms for littles to reach the sink. The high end Hunter Douglas blinds made us feel extra spoiled. But the view and atmosphere was out of this world. Every morning deer would be walking around. The only draw back was since the house is in the back of the community it was a long, windy drive so if you're prone to motion sickness it would be a challenge. But it's worth it. We loved every minute. Thank you for sharing your home with us to make amazing, lasting memories- Annie, Posted: 01/06/2020
Very well maintained gated community in the mountains. The house was everything we had hoped for...nice cabin feel - vaulted ceilings, very clean and great views! My family and I really enjoyed our stay. Thanks.- Michael, Posted: 01/24/2019
The property was perfect for what we needed. Eagles nest is a gorgeous area. Only issues we had is that the fireplace did not work and there were no directions. We were there two nights so did not make a big deal. Also it is very difficult to find at night. Right after the Camp the road splits in two and it’s not clear (on several occasions) where to follow the road. It took us 1 hour while inside eagle nest to find it. I would suggest a better map. We will be back as everything else was great.- Marzena, Posted: 10/15/2018
We enjoyed our stay at Mio Nido. Staying in Eagles Nest was very special. Mio Nido was private, without many houses around and convenient, because it was close to the North Pavillion and all of the amenities that are at the North Pavillion. It had a great screened in porch where we enjoyed our meals. The house was clean and seemed new inside. There was plenty of space with the master bedroom loft being upstairs and the other master bedroom being on the lower floor with a fun kids room next to it. The main living area was on the main floor . The kitchen was small, but it was all we needed. We will rent Mio Nido again.- Holly, Posted: 07/20/2018
