BRAND NEW LISTING WITH BRMR! Welcome to 6 Bears Cabin, formerly known as Dawson's Peak.
This beautiful cabin is located just two minutes from the center of the charming town of Valle Crucis, and a very short drive over to Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk! Exuding rustic charm, this three bedroom three bath is perfect for families or friend groups looking for the perfect mountain getaway with all the modern conveniences of home.
Enjoy evenings by the wood-burning fireplace in the living room after a fun day exploring the nearby towns. The master bedroom is conveniently located on the main level and offers a king size bed and ensuite bathroom. Also on the main level is a quaint dining area adjacent to the fully stocked kitchen. Easily access the deck from the main level to enjoy your morning coffee outside with the deer and birds!
Head upstairs to find the spacious queen bedroom and sleeping loft (futon available) with a Foosball table to use. There is also another full bathroom in the hallway with a shower/tub combo. Lastly, the lowest level of this home features a fun game room that is complete with a pool table and two arcade games. Also on this level is a bunk room that features one twin-over-twin bunk and one twin-over-full bunk. This bedroom has its own bathroom. Just outside, take a dip in the relaxing hot tub or roast marshmallows by the campfire while making precious memories with your friends and family.
Must see nearby attractions include the Valle Crucis Mast General Stores, Grandfather Winery, the Tweetsie Railroad, Sugar and Beech Mountain ski resorts, the Watauga River, and Grandfather Mountain! All located within 10-25 minutes!
Additional notes:
- CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 30+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 15-29 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 14 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Check in is after 4pm and check out is by 10am
- This home accepts four mature, well-trained dogs with a $25 per day, per dog fee.
- Firewood for the outdoor fire pit and indoor wood-burning fireplace may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $25 plus tax.
- Flat, gravel parking area for up to 3-4 small/medium vehicles
- Returning guests to this home may receive a 10% discount off the rent (not to be stacked with other discounts).
- This home is located off of a steep gravel road and visitors should come prepared with AWD or 4WD vehicles with high ground clearance. During winter months where inclement weather is likely, it is imperative that guests come prepared with a proper vehicle suited for driving on mountain terrain. Chains may also be necessary during times of snowfall. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.

Excellent location for a laid back mountain trip! The cabin had everything we needed for our stay, plus more. The games and hot tub were great, the cabin was spacious enough for 3 couples and our pups, and the location was private, but still close to town. Great cabin, definitely need 4WD. It snowed and it was beautiful during our stay. Hosts were responsive quickly when I needed anything. Sugar mountain was very close about 20 min away. Hidden Hideaway is a beautiful, quiet place. It is secluded, yet has all the amenities an active multi-generational family desires: games, hot tub, grill, modern appliances, a playroom for the kiddos and plenty of tvs. Our family totally enjoyed our stay.- Marie, Posted: 11/08/2023

We enjoyed the house. Grandchildren LOVED every part of it, which made us enjoy it more. Centrally located to all the places we wanted to go. The location of this charming cabin is hard to beat if you want to explore the area. 10-20 min from downtown Boone, Banner Elk, and Blowing Rock. 7 min drive to nearest grocery store, 3 min from original Mast General. Everything was sparkling clean, the beds were comfortable, and the amenities provided for every need. We brought our dog (his first time on a trip with us), and really appreciated that the porch can be completely enclosed with latched gates. This would have also given me peace of mind when my kids were smaller. So nice to be able to relax on the huge, wrap around porch without worry of anyone venturing away from the house! We just returned from a great stay at Dawson’s Peak. The house was absolutely beautiful. There were six of us and we all had plenty of space and privacy when needed. The hot tub and pool table added to our wonderful time. We will definitely be returning when we come back to the mountains. Thank you for a perfect vacation!
