We enjoyed our stay a Sunrise Lodge. The house and back deck are beautiful, the welcome bag and coffee amenities were a nice added touch and the bedrooms were very spacious, especially the upstairs with the loft. We enjoy being able to walk to the North Pavillion, take our dogs to the dog park and the short drive to the winery. Great location!

We had some issues getting through the gate because our gps took us to the back gate, but we were able to get that ironed out by support over the phone. The cabin also doesn’t have a normal cable channel lineup, which was an issue because there was a big sporting event on ESPN that our family planned on watching together. Other than that, the house was excellent and the views were breathtaking. We 100% plan on returning!

Beautiful home with amazing views. Pictures are very accurate (with the exception of the swing on the porch which is not there). Both bedrooms have kings beds and nice bathrooms, they are on separate floors which offers some nice separation.
We rented an ATV through the property and this was a lot of fun! Highly recommended.
My one negative comment about this place is that it is very remote from any dining/ shopping options- the closest is about 25 minutes away in Banner Elk. We didn't realize this driving in and had issues getting dinner our 1st night. Cell service is also terrible in the area, so don't plan to use your phone (for internet or calls) coming in. No issues with this once at the house/ on wifi. So, this is more of a negative to the area than to this particular house.

Sunrise lodge at Eagles Nest was by far the newest, cleanest and nicest cabin we have ever rented. The decor is perfection. Recommend leaving the barn door open to the upstairs bedroom so not to miss waking up to the morning sunrise through the picture window. The large soaking tub in the upstairs bathroom is wonderful. Although there are other cabins nearby it's an extremely quiet get away and rarely did we see anyone else. Bring your streaming device such as Roku or Firestick since only local cable channels are provided in this cabin. This entire community is amazing and the roads are far nicer than most mountain retreats.

The dog park was perfect for our two dogs. Short drive to the park which the kids loved. Very comfortable and just the right size for our family of four. We are already planning our next trip up. My mother and father in law both turned 75 this year, and we had planned a big family trip to Alaska to surprise them. Unfortunately, due to COVID, we had to cancel that trip. We all still wanted to get together, but needed a place that we could all drive to. Eagles Nest was the perfect meeting place for us all! We wanted to stay rather isolated within our family group and the mountain provided a great escape. Sunrise Lodge was just right for us (6 adults and 1 dog). The rest of our family was in another cabin down the road. Our cabin was clean and well appointed. And being close to the dog park was a nice plus for us! We did have one small hiccup, there was a leak from the upstairs shower that we discovered on the second day. I called and reported the leak to Amy from the rental company, and she had the problem fixed before we got back from lunch the same day! Amy, was also great answering some questions we had before we arrived. Altogether, we would love to come back to both Eagles Nest and Sunrise Lodge! It was peaceful and an excellent escape for a few days!
