This was our third stay at Scrollrock, over the last twenty five years , and this visit was the best ever! We have some very precious memories of our first, tenth, and our twenty sixth wedding anniversaries; all celebrated at Scrollrock! Even before we checked out this last time, we were were already planning our next trip. Of course there is plenty to do in the area. We went gem mining for the first time and loved it. Also tried a couple of new restaurants. Just sitting on the porch listening to the water move over the rocks in the creek brings the upmost peace and relaxation when we are at Scrollrock.

I really like the outdoors and this cabin I stayed in was almost surrounded by trees. I was hoping to see more wildlife especially a bear but anyway it was still great. I had know idea that snow skiing was such a big thing…Definitely will do again but next time it will be in October… the roads are a little curvy

Amazing home and property. My wife and I absolutely loved the privacy of the lot and especially the adjacent creek. This house was a perfect stay for hiking and exploring the mountains in the summer. The creek was beautiful but the hot tub was not working. Great location and hidden from it all. There was an odor downstairs but the window and door was opened to air it out. The back porch was wonderful; would definitely stay again!

My husband and I had a great time! The cabin was perfect. Had everything we needed and is in such a pretty location. It was very fun to be in the hot tub with it being so cold outside! And we also ran from the hot tub to the creek for a brief dip in that cold water. We slept well in the comfortable bed and only wish we had another day to stay. We would love to come back in different seasons too.

The cabin was cute and clean and cozy. Hot tub was great, gas fireplace was great. The creek running right by the deck was picturesque. The cabin isn't far off the road, yet we didn't mind, as it still felt private and the area is very quiet.

Stayed at Scrollrock for a full week. Couldn't have been happier with our experience. We were blessed with two days of good snow to see it both white and green. Beautiful in both. The dogs loved running around the yard and playing in the creek. Gas fire place and hot tub were cozy. Only about 15 mins to town and groceries. About 20-25mins to local hiking trails and breweries. It was a good location and distance for us with scenic drives. The cabin felt very private with all the trees surrounding it. A large group of deer would pass through the back yard every night, which was awesome. We were stuck in the cabin for 2.5 days while our truck was getting repaired, but thankfully the cabin had all the essentials for us to still have a great time. My husband and I would definitely stay at this cabin again in the future. Great vacation to enjoy the outdoors, skiing, local breweries, and have some much needed R&R.

The house we rented was excellent. Housekeeping had it immaculate and mx was very professional and made sure all was great before he left. Rental associates always got back to us.

The house we rented was excellent. Housekeeping had it immaculate and mx was very professional and made sure all was great before he left. Rental associates always got back to us.

Wow!!! This place was incredible. Picture perfect getaway in the mountains, yet just minutes from downtown Banner Elk. If you’re looking for that special place, this is it. Cabin was well equipped for everything we needed. Loved waking up in the morning to the sound of the creek that runs through the property. Highly recommend!

I loved staying at this cabin. Adorable, charming, cozy... We even found a bear paw print on the trash bin the last morning! There are no negatives from this experience. Also, the laundry soap used for the linens smells amazing. ❤️

What a wonderful find, tucked up against the mountains amongst the trees. A private little get away where you can get lost in the middle of trees and amazing woodland plants. Enjoyed the evenings in the hot tub watching all the different birds and sounds of the stream. Meals on the porch or sitting with a cup of coffee, Relaxing! The inside was just as charming cozy and warm. Just right for a game of checkers nothing like getting the competitive juices flowing. Well-appointed with whatever you needed at your fingertips. Beds were comfy and warm, with the sound of the stream lulling you to sleep each night. If you're looking for a quiet place to reconnect you have found it in Scrollrock.

Everything was great, just as usual! Lots of wildlife like deer, chipmunks, and birds. The house was spotless too. The only issue we had was that we requested firewood for the firepit and the associate did not seem to have specific knowledge of the home having a firepit so we didn't get to use the firepit. Otherwise it was a great trip!

First timers to Banner Elk NC, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Scrollrock. From the well-appointed amenities (the kitchen, the fireplace, the hot tub), the creek and watching the local deer graze on the lawn just after sunset, the quick accessibility to downtown Banner Elk restaurants, Beech, Sugar and Grandfather Mountains, Alpine coaster, Linville Falls, and so much more - we are so impressed at how quickly we felt right at home in this amazing and cozy cabin. It's the perfect size and has everything we needed.
This 40th birthday weekend was surely memorable, and we are already looking forward to returning again soon!

It lolls you to sleep at night (super comfortable bed) and provides great entertainment during the day. We sat outside by the fire, enjoyed beautiful stars from the hot tub at night and even took a few refreshing dips in the creek. The cabin is well equipped and inviting. We can't wait to come back. Close to a few ski resorts too, will have to come when it snows.

This little cabin is precious! It was clean and so well decorated and warm and cozy. The rushing creek beside the property was so beautiful and nice to listen to. We loved the red rockers on the porch!
Only thing we had a hard time getting used to was the little oven. We tried to heat up pizza and the baking sheet would not fit in the oven...just a minor thing.
We had a great time there!

Scrollrock is an amazing location situated very close to Banner Elk and the Sugar Mountain Ski Resort. It was far enough away to enjoy some quiet time with family and friends, and close enough to get to the slopes for some skiing. The location is also PERFECT for pets. They had a blast here. Scrollrock is an incredible property. The creek and outdoor space were perfect not only for us but also our small dog. We highly recommend Scrollrock not only for the property itself but also the impeccable service we received from the management company.

We didn't want to leave. It's obvious that someone has put a lot of thought into this property, even down to how the house was positioned with the landscape and the pre-existing natural features that were retained when it was built such as trees, stream and rocks. It is obvious someone must have some knowledge of Japanese landscaping design concepts. The moss on the roof although volunteer is stunning. The shower in the upstairs bathroom was a surprise because it was not featured in the website pictures. Everything was very clean and the bed is very comfortable. Pictures can nowhere near do this property proper justice. Open the windows and you always hear the stream and at dusk the tree frogs start chirping. I really appreciated the fact that not all the grass was cut so the yellow flowers in the meadow were left to enjoy. There is just too much to write about in this review, you must see for yourself.

The cabin was perfect! I felt as though it was my own home in the mountains for 3 days. The Hot Tub made for a special youthful experience that I will never forget. I tried to leave the cabin in the same condition as when I arrived so that the next person could experience the same warmth of a home in the mountains. Thank You!

Scrollrock is a perfect location for Banner Elk and probably the best set up for dogs we have ever had at an AirBnB!

Historic charm and modern convenience. A wraparound porch and a spacious deck with a hot tub by a gurgling stream make for a relaxing outdoor experience. We had a delightful stay. Our only caveat is for those who have problems with stairs inside and out.

Excellent stay. Beautiful, quiet, private. The cabin had everything you needed in it and groceries were a short drive down the road. Can't wait to go back to the Scrollrock Cabin in Banner Elk, NC.
