Great neighborhood with a beautiful view of grandfather mountain. Good hiking in the Moses Cone Forest. Only complaint was they could use a new frying pan and a few wine glasses. Otherwise an amazing location.

We enjoyed all that Racoon's Paw had to offer. We lucked out on the weather and were able to hike and the home is located central to all our favorite spots. The hot tub and hair hockey and pool table were a hit. The home is clean and welcoming and we'd stay there again.

It was a very convenient to Sugar Mountain though I definitely can see why the 4WD would be a must during the winter months. Cabin was great overall. Really nice layout for up six. More downstairs. Kitchen well equipped and house was decorated for Christmas, even a live tree. 4wd is a must if there is any snow,ice. Cabin is 1.5 miles up a steep, switchback road. NO PROBLEM without snow. Gated community so I'm sure road would be cleared ASAP. Internet and cable were very good. Did have a few issues. Guest bath had lots of hair in tub, shower from previous guest. Main bath could have been cleaner. Fireplace remote didn't work. Took awhile to find main switch inside unit. Dishwasher started leaking on 5th night. Holiday weekend so we just hand washed dishes and reported it at check out. Lots to do in the area. The Game Keeper is a must for dinner. Stonewalls is over rated for the $'s. Overall Raccoon's Paw is great place. We tried to book for next Xmas but already taken.

We enjoyed the cabin which was fully stocked to meet all our needs. The location was great and close to Sugar Mountain, Grandfather mountian and both Boone and Bannner Elk towns. The cabin is in a gated community with other homes near by so you had to drive to really hike. I would recommend this cabin if you like being in a gated community and close to attractions.

My husband and I celebrated our 27th anniversary in the mountains we love, near Blowing Rock and Boone. Our four children and one daughter-in-love joined in on the vacation as their work schedules permitted. The house provided plenty of room and was very clean. I loved the gated neighborhood and enjoyed seeing deer outside on the property everyday. We even had a couple raccoons trying to say hello. :). This year we had more rain than usual for our October vacation. Nevertheless, when we did not get out and about the home provided many ways to have fun with our children. (Air hockey, pool table, hot tub, and fire pit) I would highly recommend this home and would love to visit again.

This home is very well located for neighboring towns like Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Linville, etc. Easy access to a private community. The house is very private within the community and has all he amenities you could want for a vacation home. The views of Grandfather Mountain from the upper deck were excellent. Don't worry about the road you see from the upper deck, we saw maybe two cars a day that came and went. The house is very comfortable and I can only imagine what it would be like in ski season. The driveway is pretty steep, but in the summer, not a problem. You will enjoy your stay at this well presented home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Racoon's Paw and loved you could see Grandfather Mountain from the back deck and family room. The hot tub was a great place to relax and there was plenty of room for everyone. The only thing we did not like was having to go pick up the keys and instructions that added more time - we are used to the keyless locks so this was a first. I highly recommend this house though - you can tell it is well taken care of.

We spent 5 nights at Racoon’s Paw with our 3 kids and Golden Retriever. We found the house to be very clean and loved the location! The property had a game room and a hot tub which was great for the kids. My husband and I loved sitting on the deck in the early evening and early morning-rocking in the rocking chairs. This lovely home is very remote, tucked away in a gated community. It was exactly what we were looking for - quiet and away from the hustle & bustle of life. We're not a huge fan of all the taxidermy decorations, but we just ignored them, lol. The house offers everything you need, has a great kitchen and the perfect deck for relaxing.

Our extended weekend was to introduce the kids to skiing (Beech Mt & Sugar Mt). Cabin is amazing, and truly impressed by cleanliness. It seemed as some new white towels where added as they were nice, soft & clean. Would have loved a bit more yard for dog & kids to run around, but the development was beautiful and hardly any traffic.
Being in a gated development, it was quite and roads were well maintained.
Definitely recommend this cabin and location for any family looking for safe, clean comfortable getaway.

Cabin is located in a gated community but very secluded. Great views and the sound of the nearby creek. Easy access to everything. Plenty of room for our family of seven. Don't miss the Ham Shoppe in Valle Crucis!! Best sandwiches ever! Beech Mountain Sking was a hit also.

We really enjoyed our stay at Racoon’s Paw over Christmas! The space was laid out perfectly for our group (6 adults and 2 teens). The home was well stocked (could have used a few more wine glasses) and the location was gorgeous. We even found a close by hiking trail!
The only disappointment was the fire pit which was broken by a previous guest and the fact we never found the paw!
We’d definitely recommend this cabin to our friends.

Tracy, thanks for staying at Raccoon's Paw Lodge. We will take care of the wine glasses, thanks for letting us know. The firepit has been out of service for quite a while so we don't promote it. If you give us a call we will divulge the location of the "paw" but you will be sworn to secrecy...OK?

This cabin was the perfect getaway for our family during Thanksgiving. With an amazing kitchen and plenty of space for the kids to escape the adults. The property managers were always readily available and helpful. Close enough to the stores to not be inconvenient yet far enough to afford some quiet.

Our stay was at Raccoon’s Paw Lodge. We visit the mountains every fall to enjoy motorcycle riding with friends. Our lodge was very nice. The beds were comfortable and the home was very spacious and perfect for our group. The only thing I would say needed an update was pots and pans in the kitchen for cooking. We took advantage of the concierge service offered by the rental company, our groceries were delivered to the cabin and put away. This was very nice since we came on our motorcycles. I spoke with Amber at Valle Crucis many times before our arrival, over the course of the year. Amber was very professional, helpful and pleasant. She emailed me with answers to any questions I had. This lodge had all paved access, which made maneuvering motorcycles easy. We would definitely stay at this home again. The location was perfect and the area very peaceful and quiet!! Bridget~

Beautiful house and a beautiful neighborhood. Enjoyed the air of the mountains for a change from the humidity of Florida. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

The inside was very spacious and comfortable. We loved the fact that the road to the property was gated so security was not an issue. The fact that it rained had no effect on us because the cabin had everything that we needed to stay entertained.

I unfortunately had a death in the family and was unable to attend. My friends went in our place, and they said they loved the home! And so they would also even plan to book this for our next year's ski trip again. Thank you for their time at your cabin!
