WE loved our stay at Paradise found. The place was as described and we really enjoyed the screened in patio over the beautiful creek. You can see the busy road on the other bank but we were made aware of this ahead of time and it didn't affect our stay at all. The host was responsive and helpful. Would stay again and highly recommend. the location was fantastic being close enough to town for meal delivery services yet still felt very private and secluded.

The cabin is, as described, right on the river. But there is a highway right across the river and the traffic noise is very distracting. The hot tub and the screened-in porch are an added plus. The place was spotless (except for the table on the screened porch). It was very comfortable with everything you need. However, it is a trick to get down to the cabin on the road, and then turn your car around to get back out. Be advised. The management was super responsive. All in all, we had a delightful stay.

The surprise was road construction and highway noise that felt like we were in a big city and not in a cabin in the woods as planned. It was the perfect space for two people.The cabin did not get a lot of natural light so it was dark inside and the inside lighting wasn't real bright. The road was private so there was little to no cars but it was also right near the main road so there was a lot of traffic noise.All in all it was a good location for us and we enjoyed our stay.

Quick weekend getaway was perfect at Paradise Found. After missing the driveway a few times due to a construction project, there were no other issues with the cabin or weekend. View of (and access to) a great section of Watuaga River was better than expected. Screen porch was perfect lazy hang out spot for dogs and us! Lots of area eateries and activities. Modern interior, clean, and just right size.

Communication was very clear from the beginning. The photos and description of the cabin were accurate and the host was very proactive and responsive during the reservation and check in/check out process. The cabin was beautiful, modern and comfortable, ideally located for easy access to conveniences, adventures and yet very private. Everything was super-clean. Hwy 105 is just across the wide Wautauga river, but passing vehicles were mostly screened from view by foliage and the rushing water covered most of the traffic sounds, especially at night. Access to the river for fishing was just outside the cabin. Because this is a rocky riverbed, you do need decent agility and balance if you're going to make your way out to the fishable spots. The screened porch is surrounded by rhododendron, mature trees and lots of birds. You feel a lot further away from civilization than you are.

Beautiful, modern cabin just minutes from all conveniences, yet very private on a dead-end gravel road. Comfortable furnishings and super-clean. The rushing sounds of the Wautauga river cascades *almost* hid the noise from busy Hwy 105 across the river. Sitting on the screened porch surrounded by blooming rhododendron was a treat in July.

Just come prepared with felt bottom wading boots to safely navigate the rocks-small and large. You have to cross a little area with quick waters before you can access the deeper pools for the bigger fish :-)

Great location just outside Boone, albeit just across the river from a very busy road. The rapid in front of the cabin drowns out the road noise, though. In Spring or Summer, the leaves on the trees likely block the view of the road. Cabin is nice and roomy for two. The kitchen and bathroom are updated. We had rain during most of our stay but enjoyed relaxing on the screened porch while listening to the roar of the river. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come back.

The cabin is great. Perfect for 2 and we had our 2 small dogs. The back enclosed deck and the side deck that has a swinging gate keep dogs safe and entertained. Only a couple of small glitches. First the "hidden" key was hidden. Thought it would be by front door but it's actually mounted on a wooden rail near front door close to front steps. The second was that the info book gives the password but not network name but we guessed right. Blueridge management was very responsive but I'm always more comfortable being able to talk to owner that knows more about property. I had to ask 3 times about the condition of the drive to the property worried that our low-riding Audi might have a problem. The drive into the property is along a ledge road and one lane so if a car comes the opposite direction you need to find some area where one car can pull over to so the other can pass. The actual driveway to the cabin is fairly steep downhill and can't turn around so you have to back out and manuveur a turn around. We found that by backing out then continuing straight until we could turn around in another cabin's drive was safest. The river with beautiful rocks and rushing water was amazing. There are steps that lead down to rocks and pretty easy to get onto rocks for up close and personal on the water. The cabin is equipped with great appliances and enough utensils and good knifes. One concern, for a child, the dishwasher will tip forward if top shelf is pulled out.

The cabin is amazing and the river view is unbelievable. We spend a week here to celebrate our 31st anniversary and to get away from everything and recoup. We did just that! We will surly be back to rent this cabin again…
PS: The road to the cabin was not bad at all as stated in some other reviews. I watched small cars and BMW’s drive up and down that road all week with no issues. Smooth gravel road that is well maintained.

Our stay at Paradise Found was AWESOME. The home is beautiful and the view of the Watauga River from the back deck is amazing. We spent most of our week just sitting in the rocking chairs or hottub watching the river when we weren't crossing the rocks. We highly recommend this home. You will NOT regret it.

We loved the property, although there were a few things that could have been improved. The road that leads to the cabin is literally one lane, and it leads past some "interesting" dwellings. But the cabin itself is wonderful. Quaint and charming. The decks are spacious, the hot tub is clean and well-positioned. The only recommendations for the cabin itself are these: 1. Better chairs. We went in the winter for a quiet retreat. No skiing, and it was too cold for hiking. When you spend hours in a cabin, you want more than one place to sit. Other than a sofa, there wasn't a comfortable place to sit. And, oddly enough, every chair in the place was on wheels. On hardwood floors, that made sitting down a bit of an adventure. 2. More firewood would have been nice. We've done winter retreats in this area for years. Usually, a large supply of firewood is provided. This time we only had enough for one day. Still, all told, we would definitely go back.

"Paradise Found" is a cute and cozy cabin with a deck overlooking the gorgeous river. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for our 6 night stay. We made good use of the hot tub, fire pit, fireplace, and grill. Much of our time was spent on the deck or down by the river. My husband enjoyed fly fishing (with some success!) while I hopped the river rocks and found a perch for reading. I cannot review this property without mentioning the busy highway right across the river from the cabin. The traffic noise was pretty constant, competing with the soothing sounds of the flowing river. I'm guessing that this road would be more of a negative in seasons where the leaves are off the trees and the traffic is clearly visible. But...everything is a trade off. Because the cabin is situated close to various roads, nearby towns, restaurants, hiking areas, etc. are readily accessible. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

We visited with our two kids… the River provided days of fun and exploration. We spent our nights by the fire pit.
Close enough that groceries can be delivered on Instacart and dinner delivered with UberEats if you don’t want to cook. Close to top horseback riding locations and gem mining locations. Just great spot.
Only cons:
- the upstairs and the closets/towels were super dusty. I had to wash the blankets and towels from one of the bathrooms before we could use them they were so dusty. Maybe we were the first to rent it in a while? Not sure. But I wished there was a vacuum I could use to dust the curtains and such.
Also, animals kept getting into our garbage while we are there. We cleaned it up a couple times before realizing there is a service that comes and does it for you.

The best part of this stay was definitely the river right off the back porch. My husband had a great time fishing and caught a few really nice trout. He learned that it is better to wait until the sun dries the rocks off during the morning to avoid slipping on the rocks. The house is definitely 2 bedrooms, not one, with a full bath for each one. Our dog loved it there. We asked for an early check-in and were told to wait for the morning of. when I did that, we got no response, so don't count on that. More explicit directions on how to get current TV would definitely be helpful for the technically challenged, which I admit we are. The house really does have everything you would need. It is very cozy and conveniently located. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

The location is simply unbeatable if you want to be in nature, but also 10-15 minutes from downtown. It was truly perfect for enjoying the location but also being able to be downtown for a nice dinner — something that can be a challenge in the mountains! I have been vacationing in the area for 10+ years and this was my absolute favorite location to date. The house was perfect for us. Well appointed, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. Absolutely will return.

This cabin was awesome! The only complaint I have is that there is a main road on the other side of the river. It’s far enough away that you can’t really see people from the road. You can’t hear the cars over the waterfall, so it’s totally fine. Overall, the cabin was so wonderful. Everything was clean. The kitchen was well stocked with silverware, plates/bowls and cookware. Everything worked like it was supposed to. The hot tub was clean and warm upon arrival. My husband and I loved our stay and hope to return in the future!

My wife, adult daughter and myself. Daughter (engineer) worked remotely. I loved the cabin. Very comfortable, felt very at home. The listing stated there was only one bedroom, but the pictures showed two. There are indeed two bedrooms. The one upstairs is tight, but not uncomfortable. The fireplace was very usable. (I previously rented an large, expensive cabin in Georgia with a beautiful stone fireplace...that I was informed after arrival that I couldn’t use.) The cabin is a great size. Comfortably cozy but never felt cramped. Wonderful screened in porch and connecting open deck. The River really is as close to the porch as the photographs indicate. I waded and fished. There were no amenities we lacked. It was winter with snow and ice. We did need 4WD a little on the road to the cabin and the drive (drive is short with a significant slope) due to ice and snow. For me, this was the best rental experience I’ve ever had. I’d love to go back.

My fiancé and I had an incredible experience, truly a mountain Paradise Found.
Clean top to bottom
Hot tub was in perfect shape and cleanliness (have had bad experiences at other properties in the past)
Very pet friendly
Kitchen and dining area worked perfectly
Bed was very comfortable
Water in sink and shower was hot!
The dimming lights and fireplace added an amazing touch of class!!
Only downfall was the TV wasn’t very big, but whose there to watch TV anyway!!
Would return!!

Dont let the drive down the small gravel road throw you, this is an amazing location. Wonderful, comfortable, and warm home right on the river. Perfect spot for slow mornings, adventurous outdoor activities, and downtown nightlife. Will be back in the future. Highly recommend.

Our second visit to A Paradise Found and it was as delightful (if not more!) than our first stay. And the check in/check out process with Blue Ridge is now more simplified and things couldn't have been more convenient.

Had a great experience at the Paradise Found cabin along the Watauga River. Booking was easy and received constant communications from BlueRidge Rental Company management regarding the property and reservations. Cabin and fly fishing and snow tubing was great. Would definitely stay again. Thanks

This was my 4th visit to A Paradise Found. Honestly I think everyone should add this place on their bucket list. If you enjoy solitude, outdoors, streams, wildlife and nature then this is the place to come. My husband and I take our 2 dogs and I think the dogs love it as much as we do.The house is so dog friendly with gates securing the large outside deck, a screened in cozy porch with rockers and table and chairs for dining outside. While outside you can enjoy the creek with roaring rapids and plenty of fish to catch/ release. If you are lucky you will see plenty of cute little critters hanging out by the rocks and rapids. Although this is your average looking mountain cabin, the inside is decorated with history and charm, yet so inviting and cozy. Convenient to plenty of shopping, dining, hiking, exploring etc..I have and will continue to always book with Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals. Best customer service experience I have ever had with rental companies.They go the extra mile to make sure from beginning to end you feel at ease with the process. During our stays they always reach out to see if we are ok and to make sure we have all we need! This place is one of my favorite vacation spots of all times. I am positive you would feel the same way once you have stayed. I will mention the site mentions it's a 1 bedroom and it's not. There is a bedroom and bathroom upstairs and a beautiful bedroom and bath downstairs. I have rented the cabin in winter, spring, summer and fall. I enjoyed them all so much it would be to hard to say which time to go! Take a chance and give them a try you will have no regrets and you will certainly be back! I don't actually like to review this place because it is my little private getaway but, the owner and Blue Ridge Rentals are worthy of the praising. Hope this helps you consider your next mountain getaway. Thank you !!

The river alone is worth the stay! We arrived at night so we couldn't see it, but as soon as we got out of the vehicle and heard the roaring waters we were so excited. The first morning we sat on the porch and just watched and listened to the water. Every day we went down and explored the river and our kids kept asking for more river time. We used the fire pit and the fireplace with ease. The highway is just on the other side of the river, so you do see and hear the occasional vehicle. The water pretty well drowns out the noise with the exception of 18 wheelers or motorcycles. I imagine in the colder months, when the leaves are gone, you'll see more of the highway. Regardless of that, we will absolutely be returning in the future!

Had a great time, very relaxing, stream outside the front door, close to Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner elk, etc. The cabin was very cozy and clean. Great communication from the owners. Wish I could have stayed a year.

A Paradise Found was the perfect mountain get-away that we were looking for! Situated close to Boone, this cabin offered convenience while not sacrificing on the mountain appeal that we really wanted for our visit. We plan to return in the future. Absolutely beautiful property!

My family and I stayed at Paradise Found. It was the absolute best place we had ever stayed. We opted out of any site seeing once we were in the cabin...there could not have been a prettier site any place other than where we were. I was almost certain that when it was time to leave I would have to drag my husband kicking and screaming out of our cabin. :)

A Paradise Found has become our favorite getaway! The sound of the Watauga River provides soothing sounds and we are drawn back to this special place again and again. This time a beautiful snow fall blanketed the hemlock and rhododendron, but when we return in May it will be a different place, yet still have the same great energy. We love this wonderful retreat!

The cottage would be a nice place to relax and to enjoy nature during any season. The kitchen has good appliance, the chimney and the fire pit are nice and so is the hot tub inside the enclosed porch. The mattresses are in good condition, and there is good water pressure for the showers. We particularly enjoyed the evening lighting in the living area and in the master bed room. Very warm and cozy. We were surprised and loved the blue starlights in the trees at night time as well. We did not have a chance to explore the river but it is definitely a good place for fly fishing or to soak your feet. We had a chance to meet the owner of the cottage and he is very nice and so are the representatives of the Blue Ridge Mountain Rental. One thing to be aware though is that the road leading to the cottage is not paved so dont drive any sissy car on it. Overall, we would highly recommend this cottage for rental.

We totally loved A Paradise Found! We got away for our 25th wedding anniversary! :) We were greatly surprised, it was private and had everything we could need! We only left 1 time to get some groceries. Perfect size, perfect sound, cozy...we just loved everything about it and will certainly be going back!

We love your cabin on the river! My husband did see the 2-foot trout you mentioned but was not lucky enough to catch him. But we did see an eagle! Two times and even got pictures. He was fishing on the river and hope he had better luck than Kevin! I hate we didnt get to enjoy the fire-pit, but did enjoy the fireplace and hot tub. We WILL be back! Thanks for sharing your home!

We are from Mount Olive NC and live very busy lives...this getaway is exactly what we needed. This place is named perfectly. What a beautiful home away from home with such beautiful scenery.
