We spent a lovely Thanksgiving at New River Overlook! We felt right at home and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well-appointed which was important for a Thanksgiving feast! We were so glad we could bring our dogs. They had a wonderful time too! The many blankets and throws were a plus, since it was extremely cold and windy! We would highly recommend New River Overlook.

November 2024 - My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at New River Overlook. This was our second stay and everything was just as great as it was the first time. The location overlooking the New River provided views of the river and the mountains. West Jefferson and Jefferson are just minutes away with easy access. The house is comfortable and well furnished. The kitchen had everything we needed for preparation of meals. The snow fell on our last two days and provided beautiful views, without any difficult conditions. Boggs Road was covered in snow when we left, but driving was not impacted, and we had a safe drive home. New River Overlook will always be a top choice for future visits to Ashe County.

Blue Ridge Rentals provided us timely information on arrival, check-in, and departure at New River Overlook. The house was clean, and everything was in its place. No complaints whatsoever. We commend the staff for the time and effort they made to find us a replacement house for our Thanksgiving vacation on short notice. Our original rental house had received hurricane damage and was not available. Blue Ridge came to the rescue, we booked the New River Overlook house, and we experienced a wonderful week in Ashe County.

We loved this house! It was fresh and clean and included everything we needed. The space was great with a tv/living room and a separate room for reading, game playing, etc. The master bedroom was very nice, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. It was well stocked with books and games, but we weren't there long enough to enjoy all it offered. We were traveling only for the weekend to attend a wedding and would have loved to spend more time in this beautiful location and wonderful house.

Home was exactly as the pictures and description said it was! The outdoor recreation area was a wonderful addition especially for our children. Was just a short walk to an access area for the river, which was wonderful for tubing and fishing. We had a wonderful experience with our stay and would definitely go back! Also I would recommend it to anyone looking for a mountain stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at New River Overlook. The house was very well maintained, exceptionally clean, and comfortable for all six of us. There is nothing that could be improved upon and we hope to come back for another stay. The New River State Park was a couple minutes away and the sandy beach area was inviting. Nice area for short hikes also. The location of the house was convenient to West Jefferson as well as Glendale Springs as well as other points that we visited. The road to the house is just minutes from NC 163 and West Jefferson. The view from the bay windows in the den and the master bedroom of the New River and the mountains in the background definitely makes the New River Overlook an enjoyable and relaxing place to stay. We enjoyed watching the deer grazing in the area around the house during the evenings also.

We are thankful for opportunities to step away from our routine. We love the mountains. We always enjoy the convenience of not having to pack household needs such as pot and pans or kitchenware.
We love that there always seems to be good board games and home luxuries.

Our stay was so relaxing. The house was very clean and had everything we needed to feel at home. nice private lot with a view of the New River. The state park nearby was an added bonus. The phone service was surprisingly good for the mountains and the WiFi seemed fast. We will definitely be revisiting!

Would go back and stay at this beautiful places in West Jefferson. Just loved the atmosphere all around. House was beautiful and clean. Love the big red beautiful tree in the front yard. The only thing is the down stairs didn’t have blinds and it felt a little creepy at night. But over all we loved it!!!

Nice place. We enjoyed our stay. Close the river park. A trail to an church and an old cabin. Saw plenty of dear. To turn on the shower. Pull down the bottom of the faucet. It took us a moment to figure it out. The beds and linens super comfy. House has plenty of supplies of everything you need. Would rent again.

We had a great stay, and the house was so peaceful and comfortable. You could see the New River from the front porch, and it made for nice mountain mornings. Our kids loved the fire pit, hot tub, and cornhole boards. Spacious living, comfortable beds, great wifi, and smart TVs. We would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay! The view of the river & mountains was beautiful. The yard was nice for the dogs. I walked one of the dogs up Boggs Rd early in the morning and saw no cars. It was very peaceful. House was clean, comfortable, and lived up to expectations. We would definitely stay again! The only issue you may have is AT&T phone service doesn't work. The couple with us had Verizon service so it wasn't a concern.
