Description

Needing a place where you can leave it all behind? Then Lake Overlook is your location!

This home will be your own unique retreat, as it is the only home in the area looking over Buckeye Lake in Beech Mountain, providing peace and serenity as soon as you arrive. Step inside and you will be greeted by gorgeous hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, and an open living area complete with plush leather furnishings, a stone fireplace, and a large flatscreen Roku TV. When you want to grab a bit of fresh air, step out to the large upper deck and make the most of the gas grill and tiled outdoor table to dine al fresco as you soak up the views or relax out in the hammock.  Speaking of dining, more formal meals can easily be prepared by the chef of the group in the well-appointed kitchen boasting granite countertops, stainless steel double ovens, a five-burner gas stove, a large refrigerator to stock up groceries in, and a dishwasher for easy cleanup! This upper level is also home to three bedrooms including the primary bedroom with a ensuite featuring granite counter tops, a double vanity and large soaking tub.

The kiddos and young at heart will love hanging out downstairs, as the game room offers a ping-pong table, air hockey, and an 80s-inspired full size arcade machine to throw it back to the good old days. An 85-inch Roku TV completes the setting for a movie after the competition winds down. With a mini-fridge and sink close by, everything you need to have a blast is all right there. Sliding doors open up from this living space onto a large deck featuring a porch swing for book reading or conversations. The lower level also features an oversized bedroom with a king-size select comfort bed that can be adjusted to your comfort level. Should you need to do a bit of work while away, there is a desk that will meet that need, as well as a cozy chair for reading!

Important Notes:
- This home has a very steep paved driveway, and 4WD/chains required in winter . If it snows, the home will be inaccessible without them!
- Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a firestarter for $25 plus tax.
- Towels and linens will be provided for you.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. This home provides hair dryers. 
- Cell service is patchy but Wi-Fi is very strong. There is a landline with long distance.
- Very strong high-speed internet and WiFi, perfect for working from home and streaming.
- Check in is after 4pm and check out is by 10am

CANCELLATION POLICY -
Bookings canceled 30+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit.
Bookings canceled between 15-29 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit.
Bookings canceled within 14 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest.
All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

This home was wonderfully suited for our family! Parking in the garage was a huge benefit since it was in the teens outside with snow on the ground and the playroom was a huge hit with our grandchildren. We loved our stay on the mountain!

Our Family visits Banner Elk and Beech Mountain every October. Usually I have to come in and still do a little cleaning in most of the places we have stayed. This home! Breath of fresh air. It was clean, cozy, beautiful view and we made some wonderful memories. We stayed 9 days.

The stay was relaxing. The home was beautiful, pleasant and clean. The view of the lake and mountains are gorgeous. The best thing of all about this location was the clear view of Big Dipper, over the lake between the mountains, from the deck. You must see it!

House was just as advertised - clean, spacious and good views. We had two families of 4 stay in the house and it was the perfect amount of private and communal space. All the amenities we needed were included - wash/dryer, coffee maker, kitchenware, games, etc. Very close to Buckeye Rec Center and 20 min drive to downtown Beech. We enjoyed our time!

Lake Overlook exceeded our expectations in every way! The house was sparkling clean and fully equipped with everything we needed. There are so many fun games and activities in the house, and the Buckeye Recreation Center right across the road has any activity you can imagine. Day-passes are available for guests. Our favorite activity was relaxing and gazing at the gorgeous view from the porch! We're already dreaming about our next visit with our whole family!

The communication was fantastic, and we never felt like we didn't have the information that was needed for what was next. The property is gorgeous and lived up to the description on the website. There was a small glitch, and the service team showed up to solve it quickly.

We had a wonderful time. House was awesome. Beds very comfy. Kitchen well stocked. Lots of fun things to do inside. The only thing that wasn't quite right, was there was one ping pong ball that was bent, no pool sticks, the previous tenants left their trash in garage and the door code didn't work. Still give this place a 5 star. We had to leave some of our trash and all of the previous tenants trash. We even took trash home since we don't live too far away. We could only get so much in trash bin. The after hours support had us in within minutes after door code failed. I reported trash, but it still didn't get picked up. It wasn't in our way, no big deal. I'm not sure where to buy ping pong balls in Beech Mtn. Lastly, the trash can in kitchen was hanging on by 1 small nail, we repaired it. Again 5 star. Great place.

We have vacationed in the mountains for several years now at different locations and this home by far has been the best. It was spacious and very well decorated. It had everything you could ever need as a home away from home. My family had fun playing ping pong and air hockey together. We seriously thought about asking to extend our stay because we loved it so much. The home was very clean and updated nicely. I highly recommend staying here.

The house was great! Plenty of room for five childhood friends to hang out and spend time together. The arcade game was a huge hit and brought back memories. The house was very clean and had everything we needed.

We stayed at Lake Overlook with 5 grandkids so they could ski on Beech Mountain. The house was only 10 minutes from the slopes and tubing. The house was perfect for our family and the kids LOVED the ping pong table, air hockey and video games! Lots of competitions going on. The walk around Buckeye Lake across street is beautiful and not to be missed.

We enjoyed our quick (3 night) fall get away to the mountains. This house has a nice rec room with all kinds of fun for kids and kids at heart. It also overlooks a lake with a hiking trail going around it which we enjoyed going on one morning.We also drove to Sugar Mountain for an alpine coaster ride and gem mining and went to Boone for a visit to App State, the stores on the Main Street, and good drink/food at The Local.

The house was absolutely gorgeous and had everything we needed, essentials as well as entertainment. The location was perfect and it was the only house on Buckeye Lake and a recreation center just a minute drive down the street for a nice hike or workout. Although we did not have cell service the Wi-Fi was powerful. Would definitely recommend this house!

We absolutely loved our stay at Lake Overlook Lodge! It is a beautiful home, with plenty of space and amenities, lots of fun activities for the whole family, and the most stunning views. The location is fantastic for hiking, and family fun - our kids loved the parks and ropes course that is a short walk from lodge. We had an amazing experience, highly recommend!
