Great Grandfather View

I would happily stay here again, very cozy and homey atmosphere. the cabin was well stocked, clean, and comfy! My only comments are: -we did notice one of the dishes in the cupboard wasnt clean and had sauce encrusted onto it. -some fire starter would have been nice for the woodstove. We brought our own fire wood but this would have been a nice touch for anyone who didn’t -some tupperwares in the kitchen would have been nice for storing leftovers -i may have missed it in the instructions but we didnt see how to get to the washer/dryer. The code to the front door did not work on the basement door where we could see the washer/dryer

This home was very cozy, clean, and comfortable home for a weekend trip with some friends. we would stay here again but if you have more than 2 couples then someone must sleep in the bunk bed room. The location is tucked away in a very quiet neighborhood and accessible by a windy/steep gravel road. It was a little challenging for 2WD without any ice/snow but we made it work.
The kitchen was pretty well stocked for a short trip but only provided 1 roll of paper towels, a couple small rags, and 2 dishwasher pods so may need to stock up for a longer trip.
Beds were firm but there were plenty of extra blankets and pillows in the closet which was nice. The common areas were great for hanging out, with giant comfy couches and chairs and a wood burning fire place (bring your own firewood because they charge $25/bundle). Everything was clean from the bathrooms to the hot tub. The washer/dryer was in a separate basement area we couldnt figure out how to access. Overall very comfy cozy cabin!

We absolutely loved our stay at Great Grandfather View! All the little extras were so appreciated, like the K-Cups of coffee for the Keurig. The kitchen was so well appointed, everything was so clean and like new…the towels, the shower curtains, the new bathrooms. We loved the porch and it was a wonderful reprieve since we had a few days of rain. We also enjoyed the hot tub when it was raining, since it was on the covered porch. We loved the comfy couches while watching TV at night. We will definitely be booking our next visit at Great Grandfather View. We also loved Banner Elk & the area. This is probably our 5th time renting from Blue Ridge Rentals, and the only place we will continue to rent from. You all are great, thank you.

The cabin was well-stocked. The location was exactly what we had hoped. Our young children and teens got to enjoy the snow! We had the best of worlds with the cozy cabin and the proximity. We had a wonderful stay at Great Grandfather View. I loved spending time outside on the covered porch. It was very peaceful. The master bed slept great! Cell service and internet can be spotty in the mountains but we had no issues. The house was convenient to Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. I would definitely stay here again.

Rental was very clean and interior pictures very accurate. View was beautiful and area was quiet. The driveway is tricky if you have a larger vehicle like a large truck, took a little finagling to get it backed in but is very doable.

Inside of the cabin is stunning and a great layout. It was very clean when we got there and had everything we needed. The driveway is very tight so be aware if you have a large vehicle it's tight to turn around. The bed is memory foam and you have an option of a beautiful room with a queen which I wish had the king because it is a great room and a king in the very back, also a nice room but that front queen really is lovely.

This was a wonderful place to stay for Thanksgiving weekend with our adult children. It was perfect to have the deck to relax on in the mornings, the hot tub, the wood burning fireplace (especially since there was a burn ban for an outdoor fire), plenty of dishes, supplies, etc. The layout of the kitchen/living space was perfect for the 6 of us and together time. The location of this place in relation to things we wanted to do, hikes we wanted to go on, and Grandfather mountain was great. It was a positive and memorable experience and I am glad this is where we stayed.

This cabin is an excellent retreat to have a peaceful stay in the Blue Ridge Mountains! My wife and I have stayed here twice now (once before with a different rental company) and it has maintained its charm and value!
We especially love the view from the deck. It's an incredible view of Grandfather Mountain, seen from the hot tub!
There are some things that folks should know about the property that are not negatives, but good information to have!
- The floorboards throughout the cabin are extremely creaky. At night you can hear folks walking to the bathroom from anywhere in the house.
- The front door (the one with the electronic lock) needs to be tugged on while locking for the bolt to work.
- Around half the doors in the house don't completely latch, including the bathroom in the main bedroom.
- The carport can't comfortably accommodate two mid-sized vehicles. Maybe two small vehicles could fit, but we had a Subaru Outback and a Ford Mustang, and we could not fit both.

Great spot for our family during our trip to Sugar Mountain. Plenty of amenities and bed space when we weren't out skiing or in town. House is well decorated and sits nicely on a secluded road with great views. Wasn't snowing during our trip so driveway was easily accessible.

I don’t have anything negative to stay! Be mindful it is up on a mountain so the path getting up is steep. My Toyota Highlander was able to make it up just fine but our friends small car struggled at times although they did make it! Overall loved our time!
