Bear Valley Cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed our weeklong stay during Thanksgiving. The cabin was clean and well equipped. The four lighted Christmas trees were truly inviting and made us feel at home. The accommodations were just what we needed for 10 guests, especially the dining table that would seat all of us. Each of the three family units enjoyed a separate floor. The sunroom always had someone enjoying the couch or chairs. Loved the wood burning stove in the fireplace. The fireplace along with the individual heating units in each room kept us comfortable, even with temps in the 20's. Pool table and card table were used daily, along with video games. Glad to have plenty of parking space in front of the cabin. Boone and West Jefferson were only minutes away. We hope to return for a future visit.

Kitchen was appointed nicely. In a perfect world I wish the bathrooms were a bit bigger, but that is a minor thing and there are three bathrooms which make morning routines much easier The location is very convenient to Boone and West Jefferson. So would we stay here again… Definitely

This was our second visit. Great property for our group of 5. Plenty of room for many more. We had a couple drop out of the trip so more space than needed. Lovely screened in porch where we took most of our meals. Easy access to the New River and Todd.

This mountain home worked perfectly for us. We rented it for our daughter's graduation from App State. All of the family that came loved the house. At check in our code didn't work and we called the after hours number where they were quick to respond and gave us a new code that got us right in. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed. There were thoughtful touches like over the door hooks in the bedrooms, small heaters in the sunroom and travel size shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The sunroom was a great space. The neighborhood was so peaceful and we enjoyed taking walks. Couches and beds were both comfortable. We also had enough spaces for our four cars. We would stay here again! Thank you for everything.

This is our second time renting this house for the Blue Ridge Relay. It is a great house and the location is perfect because it is so close to anywhere from Grayson Highlands State Park to Blowing Rock. . Plenty of bedrooms and showers for 12. Great kitchen. Can't recommend highly enough 👍

The property was well kept and very clean. The large back porch with seating area and table were great for family gathering and games (plus the downstairs area also). The ladies in the group suggested some full length mirrors somewhere to assist in getting dressed up. Overall an excellent visit and location.

Pro's: rooms and space for everyone. Increased parking capacity, nice quiet neighborhood, nice place to take walks, Pool table, Very Clean, good wireless.
Con's: location was a little far from our attractions, about an hour from everywhere. Couldn't find remote to downstairs TV, but wasn't a big deal for us.

The house is beautiful, roomy, comfortable - and was unbelievably affordable for our group of 8. Even though there are other houses very close, once you close the door, you didn't think about your neighbors being so close. We had a little trouble getting in, but a maintenance man took care of the issue. We called after-hours on Saturday night to ask for an extended check-out on Sunday and the positive response came quickly. The only thing the house was missing was dish towels - there was one towel for washing, one for drying. We bought some and left them there - although a little accident with a full cup of coffee meant that the new towels may come out of the wash a bit coffee-stained!
Part of our group followed the GPS directions and were brought directly to the site. The others followed the "written" directions provided and also came directly to the site.
We would definitely stay here again and would recommend the house to others.

I thought it was a very comfortable stay and a great experience being in the mountains. This is the perfect place for a multi family stay. There were three families (adults and young children) and each family got their own floor/privacy. There is also no steep driveway parking.
The common area space was sufficient and the kids really enjoyed the downstairs! They have a grill and an equipped kitchen.
Please note this place allows pets, and you may see pet hairs around.
All around comfy stay. We’d recommend🙂

We loved having all of the windows in the cabin! We saw several deer during our stay. We had plenty of room to relax! The beds were very comfortable!
I was disappointed that the Lazy Susan Taco dish on the dining table was dirty upon arrival. The table in the sun room needed to be wiped off as well. Cleaning service should have checked on that. I could not find any dish towels or dish rags in the cabinets. I could not find a whisk in the kitchen drawers.. There were lots of dishes, but we could not find large bowls, except for a silver bowl under the cabinet.
The steps in the front were steep when going up and down, especially when carrying things! We really enjoyed the cabin, but the steep steps will be a deterring factor in the future, unless they could somehow fix a ramp.

This is a wonderful property that's extremely comfortable and well designed for a family of four or larger, especially with older kids. We appreciated that our son (17) and our daughter (11) could have their own bedrooms, all on separate floors, which is quite a luxury. The beds are comfortable, and house is well equipped, including a full array of dishes and cookware. Our kids appreciated the gas fire pit, which they used for roasting marshmallows, and we relished the beautiful surroundings, which we could appreciate through the many windows that provide ample natural lighting. There are four bedrooms plus a loft with a queen-sized bed and a bathroom with a shower or tub on each of the floors, which worked wonderfully for our family of four plus my wife's sister.
When driving to the property, please note that you go up quite an incline, so you'll want a vehicle with good power or a 4-wheel drive if the roads are slick. Also, the last roads are all narrow and one way, and you need to follow the road signs instead of Google Maps or Waze on the last turn, where you need to go straight and circle back around rather than turning right.
The property is a bit pricey, but it was definitely worth it. We had two minor issues during our stay. First, we had trouble figuring out the wall heating and cooling units, which were not as responsive as we expected. This could have been user error on our part, but this might be an aspect of the property guidelines that could be improved. Second, the wifi was spotty on the property, with some spots where we couldn't send or receive texts or make calls. It's a relatively remote location, although there are other properties as well, so that may be part of the reason. Nonetheless, we would be delighted to stay here again!

We had a great time with the family in this spacious home. There's plenty of room that we didn't feel cramped in common areas, and each couple had their own adequate private space. Enjoyed the outdoor deck areas-- beautiful views. Clean, comfortable, well equipped. Plenty of indoor entertainment options for the rainy day we had-- pool table, board games, movies. We had a great time with the family in this spacious home. There's plenty of room that we didn't feel cramped in common areas, and each couple had their own adequate private space. Enjoyed the outdoor deck areas-- beautiful views.
Clean, comfortable, well equipped. Plenty of indoor entertainment options for the rainy day we had-- pool table, board games, movies.
Loved the Christmas decorations!
It was perfect for our long family weekend!

Plenty of room for 12. Loved the large sun room with long table used for meals and Uno games. Taught the grandchildren to play pool and had family tournaments. Swift replies to queries. Very good experience overall!

Everything was great! Lots to do in the cabin, they even had Netflix, Disneyplus and more available for you. The only thing is that we tried to walk to the swimming place that they referred us to, and we couldn’t find it. Other than that a great trip and a great place to stay!

Bear valley is AMAZING. We were a group of 10 and had a wonderful time. We parked 5 cars with no problem in the front. It was more than enough space so we could lounge around. The staff is super sweet and always there to assist! My only advice to other travelers, try to get to this location during the day. The road is very narrow and curvy with no guard rails or lights.

We recently stayed a week a “Bear Valley” cabin. The place was absolutely perfect to spend my birthday week! I loved the vintage feel to the cabin along with the beautiful decor. They went the extra mile to set up several Christmas trees that made the stay even more cozy and special! Upon arrival I noticed everything was very clean which is always a plus! The kitchen has plenty of room to cook in and the house is plenty big enough for a few families. The location is perfect, not too far from Boone or West Jefferson so you get the best of both little towns! I would recommend Bear Valley to anyone!

We had a great time at this house. The leaves were changing for Fall so going on walks in Fleetwood Falls and driving around was nice. We enjoyed the fire table and the sunporch. There was plenty of space for our group to spread out inside the house. We had 4 cars and a trailer and were all able to park easily. We liked several restaurants in West Jefferson and went to Blowing Rock a few times. The house was clean, and the management company was helpful. We plan on renting this home again.

The house was great! So much room and the pool table got a lot of use, as it poured with rain for a full day! We brought everything we needed, so we didn't go out much. The walk down to the lake was great exercise!!!

This house is a great place for large family groups. We never felt like we were crowded, and there are multiple places to gather in the house. When we arrived, it was very clean throughout and tastefully appointed. The upstairs living room is open to the kitchen, and I could make dinner and talk with everyone in the living room. The kitchen had everything we needed. The downstairs man room had a sectional, TV, pool table and game table. After the kids went to bed, we all went downstairs and didn't disturb the upstairs sleepers. The sun porch is my favorite place, personally. The porch has a cozy seating area and a long dinner table that seats 10 people. The porch was a nice place to open the windows, enjoy mountain breezes, and have coffee in the morning. It felt like you were in the trees. In the main living area, there is also a table that seats 6. We enjoyed the porch lights and sitting on the lower back deck at night, making s'mores over the fire table. We had a great time tubing the New River. We put in at Cranberry Springs Bridge and got out in front of Fleetwood Falls. The pond in the neighborhood was great for fishing and swimming. Boone and West Jefferson are nearby and have interesting things to do. The house is on a mountain, but the roads are very well maintained and paved. There is plenty of easy access parking in front of the house. It was a great vacation, and we definitely plan to return.

We were able to sit on the porch and had a great view of deer grazing in the woods. We enjoyed the propane fire pit and pool table. The only problem we had was with TV service. We attempted to watch live sports each night after our daytime activities, but the TV Service didn't have normal channels. Other than that it was a great stay.

We were looking for a secluded place for family to get together and do outdoor activities since we've been separated and stuck indoors due to COVID. This property was perfect for us. There was plenty of space for us to spread out and have privacy, yet there were several options for hanging out together. Our two favorites were the lower level porch with the fire pit and rocking chairs and The enclosed porch on the main level for eating together and playing card games. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare food, plus some food storage containers and some spices. There were plenty of towels, blankets and pillows. We loved that there were both a gas and a charcoal grill. As for management and housekeeping, they were great. The place is obviously clean from first inspection, but I thought it noteworthy to share that when I dropped something between the headboard and the mattress and went to retrieve it, there was no dust under the bed. Also, on our first night, two of the lights on the enclosed porch went out. We brought out the lamps from the living room and notified management. The next day, someone came by with replacement bulbs. They took good care of us, and we would definitely recommend this rental. A note: Renters in July and August should be aware that while there is AC in the house, two of the bedrooms don't have AC units and will likely get hot. It was cool during our late June visit, but I could see those rooms getting uncomfortable in late summer.
