We absolutely loved our stay! The mountain view from the cabin was stunning. It was incredible being able to wake up everyday and look right outside our huge window at the gorgeous view. The cabin was also super convenient with only a 6-7 minute drive down to the main street, and a Lowe's Foods only a few minutes from there. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with pots, pans, and everything we needed to cook meals. Our dog adored hanging out on the porch (we did too!), and the gas fireplace was so cozy and easy to use at the click of a button. The cabin is about 30 minutes from Blowing Rock and lots of great hiking spots, which made it the perfect little getaway for us. It was just my husband and me this trip, and we would 100% stay here again!

I called and left a message and the very next morning a repairman arrived and fixed it and showed us how to operate it. Pretty impressive!
A couple of suggestions for improvement: we cooked quite a bit and the frying pans need to be replaced, they are very scratched. Another level up to be considered would be better paper towels and 2 ply toilet paper. Also, and this is purely for better aesthetics, the wood plank floors make for a great rustic vibe, but are in great need of resurfacing, clearly many visitors have been careless with their suitcases.
The drive up the mountain to the cabin takes 6 to 7 minutes and is super steep, a 4 wheel drive is a must. All in all our experience was terrific!

What a dream!! Our family of 6 stayed here in February and it was everything we hoped for and more! It's decorated so well - the perfect log cabin vibes! Everything we needed was provided, even pool towels for the hot tub! What a gorgeous view! Will definitely be back!

Great cabin vibes! We enjoyed a peaceful stay up in the glorious mountains soaking in the hot tub while gazing at the stars. I will mention this is a cabin, so it's all wood, so it does make some creaking noises, they all do! The location of this property is central to all other areas, easy drive into Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk! Definitely will stay again!!

Perfect for a sister getaway. The house has all that is needed; hot tub, deck with a beautiful view, large kitchen, gas fireplace. The queen bed was very soft. Location is convenient with about a 20-30 minute drive to many great hiking areas such as Grandfather mountain and Linville falls and small towns like Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. The Grandfather mountain winery in at the base of the entrance road to the house (an added bonus after a day of hiking).

We truly enjoyed our stay at Apple of my Eye! Our experience from beginning to end was amazing. Upon arrival, our teen son's first word upon seeing the cabin was "sweet." Nailed it!
However, our top takeaways:

-- The private and secluded location provided a nice respite which helped us and our four legged family member to relax.
-- The home was spacious and well appointed.

The view of Grandfather Mountain was something we absolutely enjoyed each morning as we sat and drank our coffee.
The home was clean and the sleeping set up was perfect for the 5 of us.
We loved that there were 2 family areas (one on the main floor and one on the lower level) that allowed us to either sit and chat or play games at the game table - both while enjoying a cozy fire in the gas log fireplaces.
The close proximity to all downtown areas - Banner Elk, Boone & Blowing Rock also afforded us the opportunity to do some window shopping and exploring.
Although we did not have plans to ski or snow tube this trip, Apple of My Eye would have been the perfect home base for either of these activities as well due to its excellent location.
Everyone we spoke to at Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals was very polite and helpful.
We will definitely be booking again.

We had a wonderful stay at Apple of My Eye for our anniversary! The cabin was so well stocked which was a pleasant surprise as you never really know what all you'll need to buy/bring. The location was fantastic and just a short drive to everything. The view and hot tub were wonderful, especially after a long day of hiking! We didn't want to leave and would absolutely book this cabin again!

We fell in love with this place. The house had a rustic feel but was filled with all the modern amenities one could ask for. The private location in a gated community made you feel like you had the entire mountain too yourself. The location was amazing! Close proximity to Banner Elk, Boone, and Grandfather Mountain state park, made this an ideal location. Boone was the farthest drive of only 20 minutes, truly a beautiful area to visit. The folks at Blue Ridge Rentals were wonderful! I would highly recommend this company and staying at “Apple of My Eye” for any future vacations to the Banner Elk area.

We had a lovely visit. The view was better than expected and even though you feel away from everything you're only a 10-15 minute drive down the mountain to all kinds of activities and dining options. We had no trouble getting there in a sedan during the warm months although you will see why they require 4x4 or chains in the winter. We have stayed at three cabins in the last year and this is the first one that I would book again. Perfect space for our small family to have peace and quiet although enough room for two small families if you're close. 10/10.

Was an amazing place to stay. Views were spectacular! The cabin-home was clean and had everything we needed-- larger than expected. We took a family vacation with adult children. So much to do -winery, brewery, hiking, zip-line, Grandfather Mountain etc. Nights were crisp and clear. Hot tub was amazing after a long day of hiking. Late night movies to enjoy with the family. Blue Mountain Rentals was so easy to work with and kept us informed weeks in advanced of the trip. Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals returned every phone call answered every question we had. Very kind, informative, considerate. This is our second trip through Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals. We have another one planned in October --- can't wait!

We have used Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals many times in the past, and I can say we have never had a bad stay. The cabins are always well maintained and have always had that special mountain touch. If anything does come up, a quick call to the office absolutely takes care of it.
This particular trip we stayed at the Apple of My Eye cabin in the Seven Devils area. It was everything and more than we expected. Firstly, Can we talk about those views!?!! Just absolutely gorgeous! Nothing compares! But seriously, we had everything we needed for cooking, sleeping and staying cozy by the fire while watching some TV during downtime. And we were lucky enough to catch glimpses of some of the local wildlife 🦌. What a thrill! The location was a short steep drive up a well maintained road. During winter weather, a 4 wheel drive would probably be best. Putting that aside, the cabin is actually located conveniently nearby to grocery stores, shops, restaurants, and some of the best hikes around. Don't miss the nearby Grandfather Profile trail.
Do yourself a favor and book it. You will soon be sitting in that hot tub taking in the gorgeous Mountain View's.

What a wonderful little cabin! The views were incredible and the location for what we wanted was perfect. It was VERY high up in the mountain and absolutely requires a car with 4 wheel drive and/or chains in the winter. We visited in early January and had snow 2 out of the 5 days we were there. Around the house there was snow that was at least 2 feet deep. Being so high up was wonderful because the snow doesn't really melt. It takes about 10 minutes to get fully down the mountain from the house, about 5 minutes longer if it was snowing or the road wasn't freshly cleared. There were only a few neighbors around and none of them looked to be occupied. There was so much land to walk around, hike and of course snow sledding (which the property had 3 for us which was such a wonderful added bonus). The cabin has pretty much everything you could ask for including a great 3rd level lounge area with so many books, games, fireplace and a card table. The kitchen is large/spacious and has a gas oven/stove. The fireplaces in the cabin are all gas, which was nice being not too familiar with lighting a real fire and having to worry about getting dry wood. The only non-wonderful comment that I can make on the cabin is that the upstairs rooms are a little small and the bathroom upstairs is a little dated, neither of these would prevent me from booking this cabin again. Both rooms had comfortable beds and clean linens. I cannot recommend this cabin enough for a smaller family or even two couples. Our family agreed based on this visit that an annual trip is a must and we will absolutely be back!

Gorgeous cabin. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Super clean and had everything we needed. Very relaxing and kitchen was stocked with anything you needed to prepare a meal as if you were at home. Hated to leave such a wonderful place. Highly recommend.

A group of friends and I stayed at the "Apple of my Eye" house in Banner Elk-- it was magnificent! The house was well maintained, well stocked, and exceeded our expectations. In addition, the views were amazing! It was a quick trip to the Grandfather Mountain hike and Elk Knob. We hope to be back and will book with BRMR again!

This cabin was absolutely stunning and had everything we needed. The cabin had lots of games and extra blankets!!! The view was amazing and everything was so clean and tidy! I can't wait to stay at one of their rentals again!!

Apple of my eye was a lovely house with a generous well equipped kitchen. My family had a wonderful time, the view was excellent, the rooms and beds comfortable. We enjoyed walking around the area, and relaxing in comfort. We would definitely go back, highly recommend.

We had a very positive experience booking a cabin for our vacation with Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals. Website is easy to use, responses were fast and staff was helpful when we decided to stay one more day right after booking our stay. Apple of my eye We had a blast here. Great views and the house was amazing. We love to cook and the kitchen was stocked with everything including very nice pots and pans , dishes and mugs. The beds were extremely comfortable and bathrooms clean and spacious. Check in was a snap and the hot tub was amazing. Will definitely stay here again.

This location is secluded enough that you feel like the only people on the mountain. We enjoy the views from the large windows as well as from the hot tub on the deck. We originally picked Apple of My Eye in 2016 after a Florida vacation fell through due to a lack of a dog sitter and we have since decided to make this an annual tradition. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need, minus your groceries. The dogs absolutely love all of the hikes along the Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway. If you're going on vacation to get away from everything, this is the place! Hike all morning and relax all afternoon...

Excellent cabin retreat in Banner Elk! The cabin was immaculate, and the view of Grand Father Mountain from the back yard, was breath taking. The Cutie Family will be returning again to this beautiful spot :)

This house is roomy, well decorated, and comfortable with great views. At first we were hesitant to rent because of the lack of reviews, but it is well maintained and managed. There was an issue with the hot tub but Blue Ridge Rentals was out right away.
