We had a great stay at the Appalachian Retreat! The location, for us, was perfect as we love Blowing Rock, and enjoy having a "big" city (Boone) with everything one would need close by. Our only regret was that the stay was not long enough! We were also blessed with perfect weather the entire time. Please arrange the same for our trip next year.

My family stayed at this cabin for a long ski weekend at AppSki. The location is perfect--wooded and quiet, with easy parking and a short walk to the ski resort. The space was very clean and comfortable, well-stocked, and perfect for a couple, family or even 2 small families. The cozy tv room on the bottom level is an ideal kid hangout or would work well if 2 couples or families wanted a bit of separation in a small cabin. The property management company was great with communication - directions, instructions, and general information - and responded promptly to questions. We enjoyed our stay here and highly recommended it!

The property was exactly as it was pictured. They even had a Christmas tree up! My son loved it. The fire place is incredibly intense and warms the house. If you’re looking for a true mountain retreat , this is it. Just be careful driving to the house. It fogs easily and these roads are true Mountain thin windy roads. My only suggestion would be that the house could use a good deep clean. Nothing that impeded our stay but was noticeable.

We came to ski and the location was perfect—as close as you could possibly get to App Ski Mountain. The house is perfect for gathering (to eat, around the TV) but also big enough to spread out and have your own space. We loved the hot tub under the stars after a day of skiing. Note the "host" is a large property management company so the experience may be different if you're used to dealing with individual homeowners on Airbnb. That said, we needed help with icy stairs during our stay and maintenance came right away, so that was great.

Very nice and clean. So glad it was dog friendly but they had to potty on the gravel -no grass. Two spots for parking a truck and SUV Trailblazer but a little tight. About 10 outside steps that go down to the front door. Hot tub towels were provided which was nice because we didn’t think to bring any. There was a baby gate at the top of the stairs so the dogs couldn’t escape to downstairs without us. The master bath is a walk in shower and the downstairs bath you have to step up and over. Will definitely recommend to others and will stay again.

We loved our time at the cabin for a girls weekend. Location is close to the outlets and downtown. Plus if you sit outside, you can hear the Tweetsie train whistle. Absolutely enjoyed the hot tub!! Only issue we noticed was the difference in temps from the upstairs and downstairs. The upper level was warmer and the lower level was at least 10 degrees or more cooler. Other than that, everything was perfect!! Would definitely stay here again!!

We spent 3 nights in this great cabin. Everything in the cabin was perfect! And the view from the deck into the forest was great. And the temperature was 20 degrees less than at home...so nice to be able to enjoy the outdoors.

Appalachian Retreat caught our eye because of the beautiful pictures on the Blue Ridge Rentals site. However, when we got to the property, it was even more beautiful than the pictures! It was very well maintained and had so many comforts. The woodwork, decorations and furniture are stunning. The amenities and all that is included in the house added to our trip. We felt that the owners had really taken care in making it nice for us and all renters. It was warm and inviting; spacious, yet cozy and comfortable. We rented this for just shy of a week in March. It was perfect for our family of four. Plenty of room. The kids could have each had their own room, although they preferred to share.
