We had a great stay and enjoyed how close the property is to everything. House is a little dated. Ceiling fan on lower level master isn't working properly and that would have been nice if it was usable. Toilet on lower level rocks when you sit. If you sleep in lower level be prepared to hear everything above you. Porch is amazing and the amount of living space definitely met our needs. The house was big enough for our group of 9. 6 kids ranging from almost 2-17. There is a creek on the property but didnt have any water running through it until it rained for multiple days. It rained for 4 straight days. Only downside was the fridge had drawers that didn't work properly and very hard to open and no shelves in the door. Overall we had a blast and plenty to do in the surrounding areas!!

Love this house. This is our 4th year staying here. We had 6 Adults and 3 kids. Plenty of room, very clean and has everything you need. We enjoyed our stay! Large family including our one year old granddaughter, young adults and teens. More than enough room to spread out. Great location! We had everything we needed and more in this beautiful property. We did see some issues with housekeeping but we made the rental agency aware and are satisfied with their response. We feel sure this will be addressed with the cleaning crew moving forward. We plan to stay again.

We loved the home but there are many stair steps to get to the master suite. We had an issue with the master bathroom shower that impacted our visit, and since it was during a holiday weekend, it couldn't be fixed. The rental company compensated us for the inconvenience.

This is our 2nd time staying at A Positive Outlook! Perfect for graduation weekend, family weekend, etc at APPALACHIAN. Plenty of room for a big family/group to each have their own bedrooms. Plenty of room to gather on the porch! Lots of appliances and utensils for preparing meals.

My friends and I had a wonderful stay at A Positive outlook. The house was just as described, very clean and comfortable. It was perfect for 4 couples. The hot tub was great and we got lots of use out the pool table. It was a very short drive to Boone and only 15-20 minutes from blowing rock. It was very quiet as well, there were other cabins in the area but they were far enough away that we didn’t hear anyone else. The beds were all comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked which was perfect as we ate every meal in the cabin. The only thing I would say as warning to groups that go to bed at different times (which is of no fault of the owners) is the noise travelled in the house easily (especially in the bottom floor bedroom) but noise machines helped us! Otherwise this cabin was perfect we all agreed we would love to come back again for our next mountain trip!

Nice location, close to Boone and ski resorts. We enjoyed the long table in the kitchen so that we could all eat together. Large bedrooms and comfortable mattresses. The kids loved the pool table and the hot tub! Also great views! Be prepared if there is snow in the area as the plow trucks don't come by very often. We will be back next winter!

Well stocked kitchen with a crockpot, loved the hot tub, rocking chairs, and porch swing. Steep twisting road from highway but that is consistent with the area. Host was responsive to our non urgent maintenance requests. Some DVDs available for adults and kids. Would stay again.

Our extended family of 10 (6 adults and 4 small children) had so much fun staying at ‘A Positive Outlook.' The cabin is private, spacious, and set up well to accommodate families traveling together. The little ones had plenty of areas to play inside and out. We loved the open kitchen, large table, and main floor living area with the wrap around porch. The climbing ropes behind the house were also a big hit. We enjoyed the fire pit and the hot tub. The location is great because you have the peace and quiet of the mountains, but all the conveniences of stores and restaurants within 6 miles. We brought the kids to Tweetsie Railroad one day, went to Grandfather Mountain another day, and the kids when to Linville Falls and the caverns. Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals was great to work with and quickly responded to a few items we called about on arrival. This was such a lovely experience for our family, and we plan to have a mountain vacation again soon and go through Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals for our cabin rental.

It was so sweet the attention to detail that was paid to even the smallest things from how to use the hot tub, instructions for every tv, labeled light switches and fans, extra towels downstairs for the hot tub. So much thought and detail into every thing. I really loved all the personal touches, you can tell that the home owners really want folks to have the best time possible. We had quite a variety of age ranges and there were activities, games, and dvds for the toddlers all the way through tweens. Such a lovely place! Thank you for the hospitality!

Beautiful home on top of the mountain with great views but it did make the commute a little difficult with the snowstorm that came but we did fine with 4 wheel drive. Enjoyed the wood burning fire place and the large kitchen and open living area! Lots for everyone to do and near good restaurants. Had grocery delivery which was great! Hot tub was amazing! There were a few items left from a previous guest that made us think it wasn’t cleaned as well as we hoped but overall we would be back!

Three floors of wonderful space. Bedrooms and kitchen were big. Coukd use alittle updating but enjoyed our stay there. We used the pool table and hot tub..
Only one thing... first day my older son sat on kitchen chsir and it collapsed. I mentioned to rental place. They didnt say much at all. We didnt make a fuss... my son dud hurt his back. Surprised no one cared enough to make a call back to us ... maybe the owner...... ? Someone?

So well stocked! We were blown away by the fact that there was already “extra” stuff there (think tp, trash bags, etc)! We all had a blast, kids, parents, and pups! Communication was amazing between the company and myself. Thanks Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals!

Our stay at the cabin was amazing! The pictures accurately represented what we saw when we checked it, and really don't do the cabin justice. The views were amazing (although it was very foggy our first full day there). There was more than enough room on the three floors. We had 8 people staying (5 of which were teenage girls) and everyone had their own spaces. The kitchen is fully outfitted with everything you'd need and the rental company will bring firewood if you reach out at least a week in advance. The only thing I would warn about is the road to get to the cabin. It is definitely winding, steep and could be scary for those who have never visited the mountains. We had a great time and will be back!

This house is absolutely beautiful and big. Has everything you need for a great stay. The fireplace was my favorite and the hot tub was very nice too. Very open and clean. Would definitely recommend, our family of eight loved it and we had a wonderful stay here. We didn’t want to leave.

We absolutely loved this property! It was more than we could've hoped for. We came up for a ski weekend that was pretty rainy the first day, so we stayed in the majority of the first day. The house was the perfect size. Everyone had enough room to spend time together, but also able to have our own space. Could not recommend this place enough

The house was plenty big enough for everyone. Having bedrooms on each floor made it possible to have your own privacy. The kids loved the bunk beds.

This was our 4th time using Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals and it has always been a pleasure to work with them. Very responsive to any questions I had and always so friendly and helpful. This year we chose A Positive Outlook and it was a very nice, clean cabin and met our needs perfectly. The outside spaces are amazing, the view is quite nice, and the hot tub was much appreciated. We spent hours in the well-appointed basement playing pool. Very nice area with a bar and plenty of seating, gas fireplace and a larger TV. The kitchen was well equipped, including a great waffle maker, and had more dishes than our party of 6 could use. Lots of personal spaces for reading and puzzles too. It was exactly as described and the pictures are spot on. Very convenient to App State, Blowing Rock and Grandfather Mountain. We will definitely stay here again.

I really appreciated the framed directions for the TV and gas fire place – those alleviated all the problems we normally experience in a new place. That may be a small thing but it was a nice touch. We had such a nice time and no one wanted to leave. This was probably the most well-appointed kitchen of any house we've ever rented. The beds were comfy, decking is great, the outside seating was perfect, the hot tub was amazing and we liked its location much better than the hot tub at Uncle John's from last year. The basement was awesome with the bar, barstools, and small table, and we spent many hours at the pool table.
We will definitely be back to A Positive Outlook next fall. Thanks.

The house was in a great location and perfect for our 3 families. We all had our own space, as there are 3 floors. Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals made sure that everything was perfect, even down to giving us detour information because of construction on the way to the cabin. I woill definitely use them again the next time we rent a cabin in the area.

The cabin was immaculate and well furnished. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans. The porch had a beautiful view. The location was also perfect for proximity to the local attractions. The propane tank on the BBQ did run out in the middle of cooking steak. I suggest putting a propane gauge on the tank so you can see when it is getting low. Also, the bathroom breaker in the master bathroom popped 3 times while we were there for no apparent reason. That should be looked in to, as there may be a short somewhere. Overall, it is a great place to stay for larger families. We all loved our stay there.

Beautiful Location! We can't wait to return to this cabin. We stayed at A Positive Outlook, and it was more than we could have imagined. We were very pleased with the amenities at this location, not to mention the location is absolutely beautiful. The realty company is very polite and helpful. When we arrived, I didn't know how to turn on the downstairs gas logs. I called and they walked me through it. Turned out to be simple, but they were patient and helpful. The location is close to town, and several great attractions for all ages! We had a blast! Highly Recommend this company and this cabin!
